Keano

The best midfielder of his generation without any doubt. A brilliant footballer, and the best captain I have ever seen in a football club. He leads not only vocally but also by example. Keano will always be a legend. The performance he put in during the Semi final of the Champions League against Juventus in '99, has to be one of the greatest performances by a United player of all time. A privilege to watch him play the game.

Keane has put more into United than any player I can remember.

He could’ve gone elsewhere, made more money, but he knew in his heart where he would fit in, and chose the history and heritage of United over the money and glamour at Blackburn. He even decided to forsake his place in the biggest game of a player’s life, just to make sure the team got there.

A man of staunch principle, who’s loyalty is without question, giving 100% and more to the cause, including risking never walking again, just to be able to put on the shirt. A shirt he felt only the best should wear.

He wouldn’t suffer fool’s gladly, and his downfall ultimately was because he couldn’t, and wouldn’t pander to the namby pamby brigade. If he thought is should be said, he would say it, he didn’t give a **** who it offended. He just said it.

Keane, is a United legend, and deserves so much more than leaving MU like this..

If there’s one person who deserves a place at United for life, then you would have to look no further than Roy Keane.

Re: Keano

This is a sad day for manU fans but I believe that Ferguson let him go with a strong hint from Micheal ballack joining manU. Just my personal opinion.

Re: Keano

First of all, United will never be able to replace Keano. Second, I am damn sure that we will try, but look who we have bought recently when we have been trying to strenghten our squad with central midfielders, not exactly impressive. Ballack is different in style but god he's Germany's best midfielder since Lothar Matthaus and would improve United.

Another thing is that we do not need one midfielder, we need two, or maybe even three.

Thing is that we should try to prioritize correctly. We could try to buy established players. The problem with this is that we will never be able to out compete Chelsea by trying to buy established players 'cause we can not afford nor we are attractive enough to get the best ones at the moment. Therefore, MU would probably be a good number two for the next couple of seasons.
