Whenever I miss my namaaz due to whatever reason, I always read kazaa as otherwise I dont feel comfortable with myself having missed it in the first place.
One or two people have told me that it is not necessary to read kazaa namaaz. They say that as long as you had the intention (niyet) it will suffice.
Is this true? What exactly is the procedure of reading kazaa? Should you or should you not? And most of all when can you read kazaa?
Sunset, as far as I know, we are supposed to make up for qaza namazein, no matter what was the reason we missed it (except for women, they don't need to make up for the prayers missed due to menstrual cycle). I learnt from a scholar once that our nawafil are no good if we have ignored/missed fardh prayers. Since the first question on the day of judgement is going to be about Namaz. People have different views. My cousins in Saudia, don't even say Vitars of Isha, all they do is say Fardh part of every namaz and think their obligation is done. I personally don't agree with that.
So anyone who has missed prayers beyond puberty, is supposed to count all those prayers (as much as you can) and start saying them slowly and gradually. I did, and am still doing those prayers. May Allah accept our ibadah, regular or qaza, ameen.
according to a hadith, once the Prophet (saw) was on a journey (for a battle i think) and at night, bilal (ra) was to stay up as guard and wake ppl for the prayer, but bilal (ra) slept while guarding and everyone missed fajr, and they woke after sunrise....
so the Prophet (saw) ordered ppl to make wudoo and everyone prayed the fajr in congregation....
lesson learnt, if u miss a prayer for some reason, pray it as soon as u can, so atleast when asked about the missed prayer on the day of judgement, u can say that i missed it not on purpose and as soon as i could, i prayed it....
