After the slow death of Kazaa, here comes the best alternative for a file sharing application I have found so far. KCeasy
It searches on all p2p networks. OpenFT, Gnutella and FastTrack.
So you don’t need to install a separate programme for all these 3 networks to search for a file!!!
By the way, seriously... if I wanna donwload legal music (you know, the one where I pay 99 cents/song). Which service should I use, which allows me to download them, and then burn it on CD so I can play it in my car (e.g. MP3 or WMA)? As far as I understand, both itunes and Napster require a compatible device to play the songs... which is kinda bummer.
Almost all the next-gen p2p apps let u use multiple networks for downloading, e.g. shareaza and emule. As far as legality issues go (strict in USA) there are some anonymous p2p apps, which allow you to cover ur IP by directing u through multiple proxies..but the tradeoff is poor performance.Dont expect p2p be anonymous and work well ever...since the basic foundation of p2p doesnt allow it.
Faisal: If u want a good legit sevice which features the most extensive music catalog..so far itunes is uncontested. Even though you cannot play their native format on any mp3 player but ipod,u can burn the itunes files to cd-rw as a music cd, and then rip them as mp3 to ur choice of mp3 player. It is kind of a headache, but they are the only ones offering semi decent music selection.
Isn't Napster offering more music than iTunes (atleast in number of songs available)? If I download a song from Napster, can I burn it to a CD and play it in my car? My car player plays music CD's (WAV?), MP3 and WMA. Nothing else.
I dont think it is any problem using such programmes in Europes! It might be if you are on the other side of the Atlantic..
Anyway, Faisal I am a member of this online service. And this is where you can download legal MP3 files. And its not too costly! http://www.weblisten.com/en/
