SHABNAM has been on Bangladesh TV umpteenth times.
I am sure–when she’ll come to Pakistan..she’ll receive a rousing reception…like did Runa Laila..when she came first time to Pakistan after her migration pre-fall of Dhaka in 1971…
Amazing thread. I loved Robin Ghosh's music and Shabnam did some spectacular films in her day. My favorites are Nahin Abhi Nahin and Aina. Why can't we have such professional people in our film industry any more?

I totally agree with your lament & thoughts...friend!
Alas...when we get bereft and think of our neighbors as our saviors in film industry...the originality becomes a mock and under the current scenario...when everything is in a disarray...its very hard to KILL A MOCKING BIRD!
My dear friend....whatever nonsense is being produced in Lollywood is purely from commercial point of view....rest is simply crap!
Let's (hopelessly) hope that there may be a crusader who would seriously think of going for something worth the cinema visit soon otherwise the FILM INDUSTRY in Pakistan is as dead as CRICKET !!
Imagine the endurance of Shabnam that when she was cast as the leading lady of the mega-hit ANDALEEB opposite Waheed Murad.. she had problems in dialogue delivery..hence the director decided to have a voice over on her...which was done by a Lahore TV artiste *( strangely I am not getting her name at the moment) and it did wonders.***
But Shabnam didn't settle for that and took great pains in her linguistic efforts for betterment of her URDU dialect...and at one stage...she emerged successfull.
SHABNAM & ROBIN have been termed as the Golden Couple of Showbiz MOVIES in Pakistan... in relation to their outstanding work in their respective field...
thats what i was wondering, one could not tell that she was a Bengali, she spoke fluent Urdu...(not the hindi version of it) Bengali's generally have a very thick urdu accent.

Indeed.......she is Bengalan and a very articulated one. She still speaks Urdu quite fluently..does a lot of social work in Dhaka and there is a possibility that she may contest elections...when they take place in BD.
She is planning to be here in Pakistan....(at Lahore & Karachi ) by December--that's when Ronnie will also travel from Madrid.
We must do our best to capitalize on her Pakistan visit.. for some very powerful role in a TV serial........
It's a question posted to him..! Why are the rest getting hyper? U can skip reading my posts if u want..but I will say whatever I want to say. If I want to i'll pm him.. right now I wanna know if he's related to him as well? Like he's related to Saif.. and the rest of the world.
It's a QUESTION! is he related to him too like he's related to everyone else!? Stop being so sensitive people.. if this thread is meant to be closed it will be.. for now i'd just like an answer...
[note] We are not gonna close anymore threads cause a few people would come in here and mess them up for the rest. Jis ko larrna marna hai please PMs mai ja kay maar kuttaii karay. Agar kisi nay kisi ki maj ya jaidaad chori ki hai tau gsup is not responsible for it. Let's stick to the topic in the forums and avoid leaving any sarcastic remarks. Thankyou. [/note]
I never asked an "indecent" question. Im asking a direct question... is this person related to him as well? The world is related to him..so I wudn't be surprised.. there's nothing mean or wrong in this post or the rest.
