This is not good. Everything doesn't start and end with "Economic benefits". There is much more than this one criteria that hold importance for people.
Isreal is not advancing towards Pakistan with the intention of friendship. It is to get a hold on its nuclear capabilities and then make clear the way for "GREATER ISRAEL"........ It is nothing related to economics. If anyone knows how they dismentled Palstinians with deception, all unfair means, killings etc, can we expect and anticipate any good intentions of Israel from "Friendship"
These friends are those who will destroy you.......... just like India. These two cpuntries are never our friends.
Not everything gives its fruit. It takes time. To enter your home, everybody will by sweet, but what matters is what happens after that

Iqbal to Jinnah 7th October, 1937:
"The Palestine question is very much agitating the minds of the muslims. We have a very fine opportunity for mass contact for the purposes of the League. I have no doubt that the League will pass a strong resolution on this question and also by holding a private conference of the leaders decide on some sort of a positive action in which masses may share in large numbers. This will at once popularise the League and may help the Palestine Arabs. Personally I would not mind going to jail on an issue which affects both Islam and India. the formation of a Western base on the very gates of the East is a menace to both."
Jinnah on the occupation of Palestine:
On October 12, 1945, Mr Jinnah said at Quetta, “Every man and woman of the Muslim world will die before Jewry seizes Jerusalem. I hope the Jews will not succeed in their nefarious designs and I wish Britain and America should keep their hand off and then I will see how the Jews conquer Jerusalem. The Jews, over half a million, have already been accommodated in Jerusalem against the wishes of the people. May I know which other country has accommodated them? If domination and exploitation are carried now, there will be no peace and end of wars”.
Addressing a mass meeting in Bombay on November 8, 1945, Mr Jinnah said, “We Musalmans of India, are one with the Arab world on this issue. It is not a question of a National Home for Jews in Palestine. It is a question of Jews reconquering Palestine, which they had lost 2000 years ago, with the help of British bayonets and American money. I have no enmity against Jews. I know they were treated very badly in some parts of civilized Europe. But why should Palestine be dumped with such a large number of Jews? If Jews want to reconquer Palestine, let them face Arabs without British or American help”?
Referring to the efforts made by President Truman to put pressure on British government to allow 100,000 Jews into Palestine, Mr. Jinnah said, “here comes the President of a great country thinking entirely of Jewry and the interests of Jews. President Truman had the effrontery to put pressure on the British government to allow a million Jews into Palestine, while he has agreed, after a long period of vacillation, to allow only a 100 Indians to migrate to the United States of America”. When a section of the audience shouted, ‘shame’, ‘shame’, Mr Jinnah turned around and exclaimed: “It is not shame. It is monstrous and criminal. Why doesn’t President Truman take one million Jews into USA? The reason is that the Jews do not want a National Home in Palestine. What they want is to reconquer Palestine, which they lost 2000 years ago, with the help of British bayonets and American money”. Mr Jinnah then declared that if the British government tried to violate the solemn pledge given to the Arabs in Palestine and allow the Jews into Palestine, as suggested by President Truman, there would be no peace in the Middle East and the whole Islamic world would revolt. The consequences would be disastrous. “The Muslims of India would not remain as mere spectators. They would help the Arabs in Palestine by all possible means”.
“We are all passing through perilous times,” Jinnah pointed out in his last Eid message. “The drama of power politics that is being staged in Palestine, Indonesia and Kashmir should serve an eye-opener to us.” Hence, he argued, “It is only by putting up a united front that we can make our voice felt in the counsels of the world.”

I know that still some people will argue that what the fathers of the nation said is old now, the situation has evolved and Pak should now recognize Israel for its own good. But the fact is truth does not change with time, it is only the quality of falsehood that it keeps on changing to "fit" the situation for the sake of expediency out of fear of others than God!
In my universe, the persistence of evil makes it even more wrong, rather than making it better! The Palestinians have been oppressed for over 70 yrs and Mush goes and shakes hands with their enemies! What a slap on the faces of the poor! Bhyee if u can't aid them, then atleast have the honour and fear of God to not be shaking hands with their enemies!
Palestinian reaction:
Deputy Prime Minister Nabil Shaath said: "We don’t think it is the right time to offer Israel gifts before it proves its real commitment to peace."
He said the Palestinian Authority was "worried" about Pakistan’s first high-level diplomatic contact with Israel as the Jewish state continues to occupy east Jerusalem and the West Bank. "It is not good to give Israel gifts before it really implements the peace process, not only in Gaza, but in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem," Shaath told reporters.

There was a program on ARY in which Dr. Masood interviewed and discussed about this issue with Javed Iqbal(son of Allam Iqbal) and Dr. Israr
At the end Dr. Masood asked if Pakistan should recognise Irael or not and if yes on what basis?
Javed Iqbal said there is no harm in recognizing the Israel and Pakistan should do it.
Dr. Israr said Pakistan should recognise Israel IF Israel gives back all the occupied land to Palestine prior to 1966.

ONLY with respect to their arguments. Do you not think otherwise smart people can say stupid things from some time? I can respect people yet strongly disagree with them, even to the point of thinking their ideas are dumb. What we all need to do is learn to distinguish between personal attacks and critiques of positions, even if they are arrogantly laid down.
So, perhaps the best response is to lay out in detail why my position is “dumb” (if you care to be as bold as some), or even just simply wrong.
I mean, never mind people who call things “dumb”…how is one supposed to react to simplisitc views that suffer from self-contradiction and stink of double standards?

It is in Pakistan's interests to recognise Israel and buy weapons from it. In fact, most wise nations, e.g. Turkey, have already done that. But Pakistan is constrained by the fact that all the fundoos that it has nurtured will assassinate musharraf or aziz if israel is recognised. This is good. Pakistan must be disabled from pursuing an independent foreign policy as a punishment for its exploitation of religion for petty political ends.

Typical Kabuli Kommie response to a simple statement. Dude! You have any idea of modern warfare? Wars are won and lost based on planning and logistical support. The great German general, Erwin Rommel, was dubbed “desert fox” by his enemies. Why did he lose then? He lost due to lack of men and material. I can go on with many more examples but I hope you got the point.
No one denies the untold sacrifices of Afghans (minus the Kabuli Kommies, the lap dogs of Baha-ratis and Ruskies). Around 250K Afghan guerillas saw the action. It has hard to pinpoint the numbers but a comparative analysis with similar campaigns would put around 100-150 K (depending on time period) Pakistanis who were supporting, training, and providing medical care. There were around 250 Arabs who were active as well. Similarly there were a couple of hundred CIA case officers, and MI5 agents. A few US officers also took an active part.
Money and weapons were supplied by US, UK, and few Arab states. The bottom line is that sans an active part of Pakistan, Afghan fighters would have been a failure. Case in point: In 1985-86, Kommies changed the tactics. They pulled out their mainly CIS based soldiers and brought in elite air cavalry. That resulted in a total failure and almost a collapse of Afghan resistance.
Seeing the imminent defeat, US, UK, and Pakistani agencies planned the use of shoulder fired solution of targeting Ruskie planes and helicopters. Stingers, Blow-pipes, and RPG training to Afghan and Pakistani guerillas was imparted in Pakistan by Pakistani army. This put the final nail in the Kommie coffin and they ran from Afghanistan with their tails in the legs.
Off course Kabuli Kommies and their Baha-Rati handlers will always hate Pakistan for that role. Your ramblings and ranting are nothing new.

Yes, but a country that continues to ignore international law and uses terror tactics to subjugate an entire people while claiming to be a peace loving country isnt a country we need to be dealing with.
I mean, by the same logic, shouldnt America ease relations with Iran, considering their oil?
Point is, make peace with Israelis, but only if the Israelis decide to play ball in the middle east, otherwise, why sell ourselves out to the devil?
