Re: Kashmiris join insurgency against India at highest rate in two decades
What happned with our deal ?
Remember I said I will grant you that Balochistan should be independant if you admit that Kashmir should be independant of India…
Scurried away from that so quick I almost forgot about it!
So how about it, i will even go so far as to say all of KP and FATA should be returned to Afghanistan if you will only but say that Kashmir should be independant of India… Its ok, you can do it. Your Indian passport wont be revoked for saying it im sure (or maybe it will…) !
Re: Kashmiris join insurgency against India at highest rate in two decades
Its a deal when both sides accept it. When you propose something its an offer until I accept it
I support having a plebiscite in Kashmir, subject to complete Pakistan withdrawal from Kashmir (including non-state actors) and return of Kashmiri pandits to Kashmir.

Excellent... I agree.
All sides should agree to leave Kashmir and we should have a plebiscite (Pakistan doesnt have anywhere near as many soldiers on the streets of Azad Kashmir as India does in occupied Kashmir, so it shouldnt be a problem). The people of Kashmir on our side may be a bit apprehensive about not having the Pakistan Army there, since many consider the Pakistan Army as their own, as opposed to the perception of the Indian Army as a foreign occupation force on the other side. I mean what would prevent the Indians from simply deciding to walk into a defensless Azad Kashmir and occupying it? Still we must all take chances and make sacrifices for peace I suppose.
Re: Kashmiris join insurgency against India at highest rate in two decades
The data underlying this headline is 70 kids joining LeT in the last year.
To put that in perspective, the Kashmir Valley’s population is ~7 million people. The reality is that there is no insurgency left to join - it has nearly reached Khalistan levels of non-existence.
A lot has changed over the past few decades. India’s economy and institutions are even more entrenched in the state and the Indian military presence as become far less provocative (if still pervasive) than it has been in the past. Most importantly the chief patron of militancy has slowly imploded and remains too embroiled in domestic quagmires to dedicate the amount of attention and effort required to keep Kashmir violent.
