Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

The majority in India wants Kashmir to stay a part of India. Had it not been for Pakistan stoking the fire of independence/insurgency, a majority of Kashmiris would also have wanted the same.

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

I was refering to the Majority of people in Kashmir. Not India... We could bring Pakistan into the arguement and make another Pak-India bashing thread but thats like two bald fellows fighting over a comb. Seriously all peoples have a right to self determination, so If Paksitani people overwhelmingly vote to be Liberal then I will have to stick or twist I cant force a change to suit my own needs becuase then I would be like those Taliban idiots.

Nobdoy can Deny that Kashmir deserves to be independant becuase thats what the people in that region want. Likewise in any other situation why does an imperialistic force have to massacre a whole race just to get it's way. Thats when the World gets well and truly screwed.

People need to learn to accept the choice of the people so long as nobody gets hurt, surely the Indians wont suffer if they move out of Kashmir.... Likewise Pakistan has nothing to lose by letting go of it's own portion its a win win situation as far as I am concerned but how narrow minded the two sides are eh?

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Faris bhai, I do not want to make this another Kashmir-India-Pak thread but when you talk about majority what is your geographical unit for defining majority. Is it Srinagar, J&K, India ?

When you are so concerned about the majority of Kashmiris, what about the majority of Indians and their wishes ? No one has stopped the Kashmiris from leaving India and moving elsewhere - however the land of Kashmir is a part of India, and every Indian should have a say in who controls it.

Pakistan has been active in support of Kashmiri independence - would you have the guts to talk about Tibetan independence with the Chinese ? Ultimately, its not about the rights of the people, its about self interest.

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Heres where I disagree I believe the land belongs to whoever actually lives there and knows it. Most Indians have probably never been to Kashmir so what right have they in determining what goes on there. Same logic applies to my stance on Muslim countries invading other lands, you should have read some of works on the failings of the Pakistani and Indian millitary we make superb soldiers on home turf but we should never abandone it and try and invade someone elses.

The criterai I have for Majority people is the same in Jingxiang where the Han Chinese are driving out my Uighur Cousins, even if we werent related I would still back the Uighur side becuase it's thier homes they are forced out of. Likewise I hate the Sudanese and thier Arab pay Masters for Invading Darfur and casuing that humanitarian disaster and the Indonesian invasion of Timur where again the locals did not want them there.

Sounds strange coming from a guy like me my Ancestors rode and lay waste to most of the World and nobody will ever match thier skill in conquest but thats a long story.... I am not proud of my ancestors actions in human terms though. That has rubbed off a positive effect on me dont know about you mate but If you have a place your attached to and someone tries to boot it out of your hands offcourse your gonna fight to keep it.

Nationalism and Radical beliefs of conquest are what ruin humanity. People need to learn to live with the best of what they have and not covet things from others. Maybe one day Pakistan and India will both rise to be friendly nations and even wars can be fought in a fair and friendly manner you know... sounds daft and eutopian but it is just as sustainable as any of the other ruthless imperialist ambitions out there. At least my beliefs dont hurt so many people and if someoen does get hurt then it was thier own fault...

I understand as an Indian your most Patriotic like I am Pakistani and Patriotic but one can still be a patriot, without being a blind nationalist.

One does not need to be a conqueror with a sword to win hearts you can win by gestures of peace and goodwill.

One does not need to a student of Clauschwitz and make agressive war, on the excuse of defence, true defence cannot be conquered even when losses exceed 90%.

I can still be a Good Muslim and you can still be a good Hindu and without squabling over a distant land that has very little bearing on what we do. Now that attitude does not mean we should not speak up for others who are in trouble becuase they are far away... in fact we have more in common with those who are opressed than the opressors for both of us have very little to gain but one beautifull thing and that is .....

Freedom. :)

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Wish we had Muhamad bin Qasim among us - who could teach a lesson or two to these ignorant Indian people .....

Land of Kashmir belong to the kashmiri people who are living there and they have the last say on this issue ....

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Due to Pakistan's interference this issue is no longer one of the Kashmiri people's rights - its become an India vs Pak issue. Pak wanted all of Kashmir in 1947, but did not get it and has made numerous unsuccessful attempts since then to get Kashmir. And majority of Indians see through that.

So no Indian will ever support Pakistan's cause against India, as I am sure no Pakistani would support an Indian cause. The only solution to this issue is status quo. Let POK be part of Pak & IOK part of India, and make LOC the international border. The moment the troublemakers in Kashmir realize that Pak is no longer supporting them, they will stop this insurgency.

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

There is not dearth of Muhammad Bin Qasim wannabes. Average life of a wannabe is 6 to 8 months in Indian J&K after they cross LOC from Pakistani J&K.

Re: Kashmiri girl moves UN diplomats and activists in Geneva

Faris,

Hitler actually hunted communists, so much that when israel was hunting nazis, it didn't find many in the hitler security service like gestapo's officers as they were working for CIA after the war. Fascism is a right wing movement and I guess its left counterpart would be marxism.

And as for US - islamist alliance, what about afghanistan, saudia and the balkans where wahabis went in while the US turned a blind eye? Hamas was made by Israel, though it lost control of it, just like there is some hints about the algerian islamists which were crushed in the nineties with western support in the end. US has always had a love-hate relationship with right wing groups be it the "islamists" in our world or the rightwing paramilitaries like the contras in southe america.
