Kashmiri families on either side of the border

There was a news report on ARY on eid about some people in Jammu Kashmir whose entire families have been separated from them for decades and they live in Azaad Kashmir. The people were saying how they haven’t celebrated eid in years because what’s eid without family?

It was so disheartening! So .. ermm.. probably a very stupid question but I’m not very well read in masla-e-kashmir. So pardon my ignorance but what’s the threat/risk in reuniting these families at either side of the border? Are there way too many similar cases to handle?

Re: Kashmiri families on either side of the border

The whole of Kashmir should be given under UN control and an independent elections should be held following the 60+ years old resolution of UN itself. That is the only solution, which would be fair.

Re: Kashmiri families on either side of the border

so from what i heard from my kashmiri friend

think about this kashmiri families number across the border are not that Huge
you will find more kashmiri's in lahore then in azad kashmir.all the ethnic kashmiri are in the valley region of indian kashmir, where as Azad kashmir is home to mostly northen punjab and jammu likes of ethnic mirpuris, dogra, rajputs .they speak more of pothwari then kashmiri apart from families who crossed border from indian kashmir

anyway still i feel sorry those families :\
