Tell me...which election did Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq run in? The man was briefly used by Farooq Abdullah to gain credibility in the '83 elections, but he never abandoned his pro-Plebiscite stance. In any case, the man died a few months after the the start of the uprising, so he can hardly be considered one of the main leaders of the current movement.
