ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has suspended the party membership of Member of the National Assembly (NA) Kashmala Tariq and sent a reference to the NA speaker who shall then forward it to the Election Commission of Pakistan to de-seat her from the NA, PML-Q sources said on Tuesday.
PML-Q sources said that the action was taken against her for violating party discipline and passing statements against the party’s top leadership. The sources said that there were reports that she was trying to form a forward bloc of the party in the NA in connivance with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik.
Kashmala had been passing controversial statements, which the party said was against party policy and called for action. Sources said that the PML-Q leadership had contacted former minister Hamayun Akhtar Khan, Kashmala’s mentor, and asked him to convince her to mend her ways. The party sources said Kashmala’s party membership had also been cancelled.
Why would she want to create a Fwd Block, when one already exists. Remember the 8 ticked off members of PML(Q) who walked out of the PML(Q) conference and vowed to part ways with the party. Wasn’t she one of them? What happened to the others who were with her on this…
PML(Q) is being diminished one member at a time. But can PML(Q) still pull off an overwhelming victory in the next election, as predicted in this previous one? :halo:
Honestly, I dont like Kashmala and never will, but she had every right not to vote for Chaudhry Shujaat, but then again she needs to realize that PML[Q] was not even a real party to begin with. She was trying to exercise her democracy in a party that was formed on absolutely zilch democratic principles at the behest of a military dictator.

what do you think PML (N) was? Was'nt Nawaz became what he is, because of a military dictator Zia. Else Junejo would have been the PML's president.

Most of the parties, including the MQM were creations of military generals. The difference is, most of them became real parties with votebanks, but the PML[Q] didnt, its a sinking ship full of jumpers.
It seems like Musharraf dissed her as well :hehe: The reason being, her criticism of the Chaudries… tsk tsk

ISLAMABAD: Kashmala Tariq’s contacts with certain political luminaries belonging to the federal government led to her expulsion from the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) and may cost her the seat of the National Assembly, party sources said on Wednesday.
“Both the Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and the PML-Q Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat were highly critical of her consistent criticism of the PML-Q,” a party leader told this correspondent.
He said Kashmala, Riaz Fatiana and a couple of other party MNAs had formed a group within the PML-Q. They had also approached the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Fehmida Mirza, and urged her not to declare Pervez Elahi as the Leader of the Opposition and Faisal as the Parliamentary Leader because majority of PML-Q MPs did not support them.
Additionally, the PML-Q leader said, this group had also tried to prevail upon the Speaker not to accept the nominations given by the PML-Q for the chairmanships and members of the National Assembly standing committees. Instead, they had tried to get their own names inducted. “We have an understanding with the government and the Speaker according to which they have to accept the nominations handed over by the PML-Q for the house bodies,” the PML-Q leader said.
As Kashmala started acting against the PML-Q, President Pervez Musharraf, once his chief backer, became highly critical of her. These days, he doesn’t utter good words about her in his sessions with a select group of PML-Q leaders, one of them, who has been a frequent visitor of the Presidency, told The News.
In the PML-Q meetings, Kashmala and her group had been calling for giving top parliamentary positions to people from the smaller provinces, another PML-Q leader said. He said the PML-Q had added Kashmala’s name in its list of nominees for special seats of the National Assembly at the end. But it was advanced on former federal minister and prominent PML-Q leader Humayun Akhtar’s recommendation so that her victory as MNA became certain. Her friendship with Humayun is commonly known, but it could not save her from the wrath of the PML-Q leadership.
The PML-Q leadership did not consult Humayun when it decided to proceed against her. Her publicly aired “independent” views on most issues where the PML-Q had a clear-cut stand ruffled the feathers of the party leadership, which finally decided to ditch her. Outspoken and ostentatiously stylish, Kashmala appeared on the political horizon in 2002 when she was elected on a special seat on the PML-Q ticket. Kashmala pays for her big boasts
Id much rather look at Kashmala then the chaudries....regardless if she had any abilities or not!!!!
I ......man!!!!!
I am sure shes much more capable than the chaudhries, just not powerful enough... She went to the London School of Economics and is a distinguished alumni, whereas the Chaudhries, the less said the better.
So we have three laydies, Kashmala, Nilofar , and aah the so called best candidate for premiership Zubaida Jalal, who are causing havoc in the PML[Quau] league! It would be cool if these laydies bring this clown party created by the dictator down! ‘Q’ still to recover from Feb 18 shock
By SYED INTIKHAB ALI submitted 6 hours 7 minutes ago KARACHI - The disintegration process in PML-Q is still going on despite the fact that, so far, the coalition government at national level could not deliver and failed to provide relief to the masses. **Meanwhile, Kashmala Tariq, an outspoken MNA of the PML-Q, dropped a bombshell against the top leadership of her party and opened Pandora’s box, party sources admitted on Friday.
Kashmala Tariq is a third important women in the mainstream leadership of the party who either sharply criticised the party leadership or parted ways as senator Nilofar Bukhtiar established her forward block and former federal minister Zubaida Jalal stopped her support for the party.**
At a time when PPP-led government has come under intense pressure due to various public issues including restoration of judiciary, price hike, deteriorating law and order situation, the PML-Q, the main opposition party in the country, not only failed to get any benefit of the situation but also still struggling for its survival.
The PML (Q) is passing through hot waters in all the four provinces since 18th Feb elections and its disintegration process from within is gaining momentum day by day.
Ch Shujaat Hussain did a lot of efforts to maintain unity in the party via contacts with Pir Sahib Pagara in Sindh and Mir Zafarullah Jamali in Balochistan but no positive results appeared for the party so far.
Old Muslim leaguer Manzoor Watto has joined PPP and appointed Prim Minister’s adviser. Hamid Nasir Chatta, though still maintains association with the party, but doing nothing for strengthening the PML-Q.
Nilofar Bhaktiar has already established her own forward bloc while former federal minister Zubaida Jalal kept silence.
In Baluchistan, PML-Q leaders and members of provincial assembly have clearly distanced themselves from Ch Shujaat and Ch Pervaiz Ellahi and supported the PPP-led government in Balochistan.
The party has also lost political support in Sindh as its own provincial president and former chief minister Arbab Ghulam Raheem has left the country and general secretary Nadir Akmal Leghari disappeared from political scene.
The recent storm in the party raised by Kashmala Tariq against the top leadership is another setback for the PML-Q, which is still fighting for its survival. Analysts observed that PML-Q has failed to recover from the severe political shock suffered in the February 18 election. It is fighting on various fronts for its survival but the sin it had committed during five years rule still chasing the party.
I think they better pack their bags because the picnic is pretty much over. PML(Q) was started with good intent (democratic party) with a General as their prime backer; however, the people chosen to head, and be a part of the party were the same faces that public dispised before the arrival of ‘General Yell-Alot’. He should’ve known better than to quickly form an “organization” of out-of-business corrupts, and put them to work.
Shame indeed.
The only party, and i say that without any bias whatsoever, right now that i see as the glimmer of hope for Pakistan with a clean track-record, and honest principles is PTI. I wish he would learn the way of the crooked, beat them at their own game, and then pursue his do-good policies after he’s treated jackals like jackals. He’s too much of a gentleman in the company of ruthless hounds. That i think is why he suffers and is unable to bring forth a party that can contend in all provinces.
Perhaps he should be in talks with the public heavyweights (use ur imagination) and get them to join his party. With supreme cream in his party, he should have no trouble winning the people’s votes.
