Karwa keyra ?

What can you do with a karwa cucumber? … :frowning:

cut a piece off cucumber and keep it rubbing to the rest of the cucumber..often it does take out the bitterness.

what if you had already chopped them up? (was making salad ........ :( )

That is 100% True .(I will rephrase it)

Cut the top of the kheera and rub it on the top , or where the piece was orignally choped from....after some time u will observe, some white foamy substance coming out of the kheera, and thats the karwa-hut.

Who_Me: This is absolutely true , if u r interested I could give u a complete scientific dissertation on what really happens?

Qrius n PKC - added to that, just rub with namak also between the slices while rubbing, it’ll be even more effective…and once u r done with that, cut off a thick slice to remove that part which u were ghassofying…
and also peel thicker cucumber peels, sometimes the bitterness is concentrated nearer the skin…
btw only one side (the one attached to the plant) needs to be rubbed so rub kerne se pehle chakhnay se banday ka kam adha ho jata hae ke kon si side ghasni hae..

khayr, now that u have already cut the salad, rubbing toh naheen ho sakti…ummm…chalein koi naheen what i do in this situation is pick out the cucumber and throw it away :frowning: and cut a new cucumber into the salad werna khanay ke beech mein karwa taste ata hae aur maza spoil ho jata hae…
if u feel bad throwing it u can try picking it out from the salad and then cutting it into smaller pieces and then putting tons of lemon or vinegar and namak, and ghas ke washing it in that, thori karwahat maari jaati hae is se par kheeray ka taste bhee mar jata hae, and then putting it back into the salad..

btw i never encountered a karwa keera in amreeka are there any here?? i thought stuff here was genetically engineered or whateva and they removed the bitterness??

batameez, i am not sure about the cucumber that's been cut..but i just thought of something..instead of throwing it away you can crush it and make a paste of it..and can use in beauty related recipes like masks etc :)
