who would you choose for your bridal dress???
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
Dr.Haroon for sure !!
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
isn't dr. Haroon more expensive than karma?
i think it depends on what type of bride you wanna be.. dr. Haroon has a more traditional look where as karma is a little more contemporary .. i would go for karma.. though their designs are getting a little common :(
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
You are Right Miea!!
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
compulsory or contemporary:konfused:?
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
dr. haroon. i can spot a karma dress from a mile away, so it kind of takes the fun away. dr. haroon can at times to be mistaken for bunto, and since each bunto bridal is so unique, dr. haroon adds his own flair to each individual bridal too. i would say dr. haroon all the way! you can go crazy with the material, the level of embroidery and definitely showcase other things like your jewelry and face with their bridals :)
hehe contemporary! my bad! ![]()
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
^First three are Dr Haroon and Last three are Karma
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
I agree with Miea. It really depends upon your preference. You can get the best of both worlds by choosing Dr. Haroon for the wedding and Karma for Valima.
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
actually i might just do that. or i was thinking salina wardah's for valima. i am not sure though
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
is it just me or the long shirts only look good on tall ladies with shararas...would you wear long shirt if you are 5'3 ??? :O
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
Honestly the quality of kaam of Karma is really bad. I bought a lot of stuff from them a few years back and I regret it now, considering they charge so much for their outfits they use really cheap quality fabric and the finishing of the kaam is horrible, I had sequins and rhinestones falling off my clothes merely months after buying them, and they use the lowest quality satin for the shalwaars and chiffons on dupattas that ends up tearing if it snags even slightly in something. If you want something that will be heirloom-worthy and will stand the test of time, go for Dr. Haroon, plus his customer service and designs are the best!!
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
if you want to be the uber traditional pakistani bride then go with dr haroon. if u have the budget then go with bunto.
otherwise go with karma. i got my bridal from there and if i turned back time theres no doubt in my mind that i would choose the same dress. i really loved it that much. when i finally went bridal shopping in khi there was really no budget in my mind but i absolutely fell in love with that dress.
you should go around and meet with different designers and see what appeals to u most.
quite honestly, dont just go to someone cuz something is 'heirloom worthy'. go there if you really love the style of the dresses. i know for sure it wouldnt have mattered where i got my bridal from (karma, bunto, hsy) , i would not want my daughter wearing my bridal, i would want her to go thru that experience and choose something that would appeal to her personality and taste.
really any bridal is heirloom worthy if it means something special to u and ur daughter, u can pass it on to her. she can hold on to it as is or make something else out of it. but really go with a designer whos outfits appeal to you for your own wedding.
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
its like comparing apples and oranges, imho. one is very traditional, the other very contemporary. it depends on the kind of wedding you are having, what jewellery you want to wear, etc.
i would never wear a saat lara, for instance, with a karma- to me, its very traditional and old school. similarly, i would not wear a modern, minimalist set with a dr. haroon or bunto jora- it would just look out of place.
as for passing down things to daughters, i would rather pass on jewellery than a jora. to me, the set my grandmother gave to my mom and then i wore to my wedding was more important and what i based my entire look and wedding on. my mom's dresses are a very deep purple and a bright, bright hot pink. as beautiful as they are, i think those who know me on GS can safely say i'm not a traditionalist in most things, so neither of those appealed to my taste, but the jewellery i found timeless.
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
SGC & Sumo made excellent points on the discussion of heirloom-worthy clothing. 20% of the reason why I want a Bunto is because of the heirloom-quality but Sumo, you made an excellent point about how you'd want your daughter to choose her own and have that experience. But then I think about how if my mom had her lehnga more traditional-looking (and not trendy according to the fashion if the 90's since they got married in 1990. Her's is red & green which was the trend of that time) I would've worn hers for sure on my wedding.
What Bunto designs is like that, or atleast somewhat. The
V-neck long sleeved bridal in maroon-red? Gorgeous. And it'll still be stylish for years to come because the kaam and cut aren't trendy but more traditional. Not loud or anything, you know? But of course jewelery is important too. sigh
It's so tough but I think it all really matters about what you have higher preference for: jewelery or the dress.
p.s. I'm a total "dress" girl. My jewelry is going to be my mom's anyway and that's what I'd want. :D

^ Agree!
p.s. you were the prettiest Karma bride I have seen. The dress is beautiful on it's own but the way you wore it just made it so much more stunning. One can't say that about every bride.
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
how much dr haroon charge?
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
He starts around 2 lakh^^
Re: Karma or dr. Haroon
thank you so much guys for your reply.....I really like karma designs and the colours combos they have on their website however i saw some dresses on real bride in one of the thread it looked horrible .....so i think on their website its the lighting which shows the dress colours totally different....I really like dr haroon but i think he requires lot of time, and i will have two months to get it done unless arrange by phone...........so i am not really sure, how are salina wardah's i saw some of their bridals they look nice, but did anyone get a bridal dress from them ???
