I don't know.....at first glance it certainly comes across as a mockery of the whole thing.

Abaya fashion is quite a big industry in the middle east so Kim is just embracing the fashion scene in Dubai I guess.

No I don't think so. Everything she does is usually blown out of proportion by the media. Sounds to me like she was just tweeting her Dubai adventure but the media started adding masala to the whole burqa thing.

I didn’t see the bare leg and the niqaab picture, but I thought she looked so beautiful in other pictures, can’t believe I’m saying that. She looks seriously more attractive and natural in abaya than she does in her usual super skimpy doll dresses. She should always have an Emirati abaya on.

lol i just wrote about this in my blog.
at first i thought she was mocking the whole burka. but maybe she is just trying to fit in? yah? no?
they do have abaya fashion shows all the time there. its a big booming business. abayas can go up to the thousands of dollars i think.
this reminds me of the Hermes Sarees they are selling in Mumbai that go from 6000 bucks. thats insane.
