He is deeply influenced by his association with Parmeshwar Godrej’s Heroes Project, which is supported by the likes of Richard Gere, Hrithik and Susanne Roshan, among others. He will either make a feature film or a series of short films to create awareness about the disease. KJo will start work on it only after the release of MNIK.
KJo said that this is his initiative to make a socially relevant film, and he wants to help the cause in any way he can. He is focusing on entertaining people and educating them. It doesn’t matter if the collections are disappointing, but at least the film will spread a message, make a point and create awareness. That is better than making a pointless film.’
Accepting the failure of Kurbaan, the filmmaker says rather frankly, ‘From a box office point of view*, Kurbaan* had a dark subject that wouldn’t appeal to everyone, and it was released between entertainers like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaniand* De Dana Dan. *Most people prefer light-hearted cinema to serious stuff, but we have learnt a lot from the film,’ he signs off.
