Re: Karaily key kheer ?

Mirch bhai, yes vegetables are good for you, but remember the form you consume them in also determine the potency of their nutritional content. For example if you grate the karela and cook it to death in sugar, I don't know how much benefit you're going to get. So, whether you like it or not, try eating in say...channay ki daal with karaley. I can give you the recipe.

Re: Karaily key kheer ?

just coat it with sugar..and eat it raw!

Re: Karaily key kheer ?

Re: Karaily key kheer ?

1 cup chaney ki daal. Wash and soak for 45 mins.
4-5 medium karelas, peel and cut into thin slices. Coat with salt and put in a strainer. Leave aside for 45 mins. Then wash and drain and squeeze the karela slices.
1 large onion, finely sliced.
2 tsp. kalonji seeds
1 tsp. zeera
salt
haldi
red mirch
3-4 medium tomatoes chopped.

Fry onions in oil. Remove with a slotted spoon when they soften (before turning brown). Set aside. In the same oil, fry the karela slices until sides are light brown. Add onions, stiry fry, add daal, and spices. Mix well and add the tomatoes. Cover and cook on med-low until daal is tender. Granish with green chillies and cilantro. Daal should be khaRi khaRi not mushy.

Re: Karaily key kheer ?

I make it into juice and drink it.

Sculling a glass of karela juice is far easier than eating it in any form
