Re: karahi gosht
How did you make it?
Re: karahi gosht
here's how i made it (dont really remember exactly how much of everything....)
first i marinated the gosht pieces with the following:
(i used approx 2 handfulls of gosht pieces)
- 3 spns yoghurt
- 1 spn ginger/garlic paste
- 1/2 spn red pepper
- 1/2 spn haldi
- 1/2 spn dhaniya powder
- 1 spn salt
- 1 spn each of different Shan/National Masalas: Karahi gosht masala, achar gosht masala, korma masala
so while the meat was marinating i did the following:
- in 1 spn oil, cook 1-1.5 tomato (im lazy....i use crushed tomatoes from a can...u could use fresh tomatoes)
- then i added the marinated gosht and let it cook until the water almost dries up
- i then added 3 cups of water and let it cook on medium heat
- i then added a pinch of garam masala
- when water is almost gone, check the gosht to see if its still "kacha"....it shoudl be ready by then..if not add more water and cook on medium heat until u get the desired thickness
in a separte frying pan, i had sliced and friend some:
- 1 onion
- 1 green pepper (shimla mirch)
- 1 red capiscum
- 1/2 tomato (optional)
i then added the friend veggies to the gosht salan and mixed....voila!! all done!!! it doenst take that long to make..just cooking the gosht to make sure its not not kacha is the longest part..if it were chicken, it would be a lot faster....
