Don’t know if this is the right place to post, but I’m going to Karachi in few weeks and now that I’ve grown older and as many times as I have been there (I’m from Europe with family from Karachi), I don’t feel that I have seen anything there as we always spend time with family.
So this time I want to know what Karachi is about.
What are some must-see places?
I’m very interested in subcultures, theatre, dance - everything that’s moving in the art and design scene.
I’m also thinking about doing a videodocumentary on Karachi for my own use, but if it’s worth it, to put it out there at some point. So please give me you input on some interesting places, thanks.

Karachi is an amazing city. their neighbourhood names are so interesting. on my next visit to Karachi, i would like to see the following neighborhoods:

In main say koi bhi dekhny ki jagah nahi hia....
yaar falak-bos imaaraat kia dekhnaa...local life dekhnaa bhii ek bahtareen tajraba hotaa hai...aur phir, maiN to ek dehaatii insaan huN jise saRak le nokkaR pe baiTh kar pakauRe khaane meN lutf aataa hai! :)

Saddar area and garden west for colonial architecture
Rafi peer thereafter has theater going on plus others, check dawn.com and the news.com.pk for ads about upcoming theatre and dance performances. There is a lot of it about, depends upon how long you are there for.

Laloo knelt and liaquatabad are the same thing.
oh...they have changed the name...:( i loved Laaloo Khet...Liaqatabad doesn't match the character of the neighborhood. :p

well i remember the sea and lots of ships/boats/seafood. alot of people. lots of souvenirs made of seashells. it's the port of khi so yup it was exactly like that- a busy port!
visit to quad-e-azam mazar is also a must! but im sure every other visiting person to khi has done that!
