Ahhhhhhhh! Old MQM BS from 80s.
MQM is not a solution for Mohajirs. They better be with a mainstream nation-wide right wing political party. If there is none.....as I see it.....create one from educated class....gather all the technocrates and intellectuals from across the country. Remain unarmed and calm, promote peace and tolerance. I think nobody can make such a big difference in contamenated political atmosphere of Pakistan other than Karachites.
[/QUOTE]

The only BS here is coming from the mouths of army generals and mullahs. Who is the governor of Sindh right now? When Karachiites tried to create a difference in the political atmosphere of Pakistan, they were labeled as traitors to Pakistan. Anyone who opposes the feudal nature of Pakistan is disowned by the state.

I respect your opinion. But will you deny that MQM was created by Zia ??? An Army General, a dictator, an anti democtracy person???

No, you cannot deny this, because even MQM leaders and those who left the party for good (not the haqiqi thugs) accept all these facts.
MQM tried to make difference??? When??

If you're talking about bringing middle class forward in the politics. yes I would agree. But the way they drove the whole show, and the way its chief treated his gang members and people like **** was horrible. It was an urban version of fuedalism. Will you deny it ????

As the best bet in given circumtances, Karachite should promote educated people from their ridings as an independant movement or a in a broader spectrum from all the urban cities of Pakistan. Its hard...really hard..but not impossible. There are sincere Pakistanis in the country. All we need is a general awareness and a movement to charge them or gather them for good. These political pigs like PML/PPP/MQM/Jamat will be running for thier dhotiees.

Created by Zia? You're saying like this is fact? Is it really a fact. Has anyone provided proof of this. On one hand it does make sense that Zia would encourage the MQM against PPP, but I have not seen any strong evidence to support this.

The sad part is that in the end MQM has been no different then all the other parties in Pakistan. Do you know how much violence the student wings of Jamaat, PPP, Jeay Sindh, PML, PPI were responsible for? When the APMSO responded, they were labeled the only terrorists while everyone else was an angel. Remember that the APMSO was created in responce to the PSF, PSO, and JS. Not the other way around.

Witnesses reported gunfire followed by a blast in the upmarket Clifton. A security official, who did not want to be identified, said the attack was on the motorcade of Karachi’s military commander and it was unclear whether he had been hurt. A doctor at a state-run hospital said the dead bodies of two policemen and a civilian had been brought in. (Reuters) (Updated @ 10:20 PST)

Ten killed and several injured in attack on Karachi army commander:

http://www.dawn.com/2004/06/10/welcome.htm

KARACHI, June 10: The army commander in Karachi narrowly escaped assassination today when gunmen attacked his convoy with gunfire and a bomb, killing several people and wounding his driver, officials said. A military spokesman denied that the city’s army corps commander, Lieutenant-General Ahsan Saleem Hayat, had been the target of the attack and said he was safe. But a security official and a senior military officer, who did not want to be identified, said the attack had been on Hayat’s motorcade and his driver had been wounded. “The blast occurred when the corps commander’s jeep was approaching,” the military officer said on the condition of anonymity. "It was a well-planned ambush. He said at least six people had been killed. Police gave a death toll of three, with nine wounded. A doctor at a state-run hospital said the bodies of two policemen and a civilian had been brought in. Military spokesman Colonel Idrees Malik told Reuters an army jeep and a police van had been hit, but added: “The attack was not on the motorcade of the corps commander; he had reached his office safely by the time of the attack.” Witnesses to Thursday’s attack reported intense firing followed by a large explosion that shattered windows of nearby shops and apartments. Security forces defused a second bomb. “One bomb exploded and another one was defused,” provincial police chief Syed Kamal Shah told Reuters. (Reuters) (Updated @ 12:00 PST)

hmmm nice points man..MQM AND HAQAQI fights have already killed thousands of young people...MQM hav some good people but also bad...really the taste of karachi spoil at tht day when HAQIQI separated from MQM in 1992 ..since then situtaion is worse and has never been stable in real means...jammiat people r even worst then mqm people...WEAPONS r very common in jammiat and apmso people......governement needs to take atleast steps to end politics in colleges..

This killing i dont think has anything to do with Shia-Sunni, MQM-Haqiqi war. Remember Pakistani army killed nearly 24 foreign Islamic militants yesterday. This is the revenge from Islamic militants. There is still a lot of support for Taliban among certain Karachi population.

Dont jump on conclusion so early ....it may be some planned attack to desabilise country and to start another 1992 like operation cleanup against practising muslims here ........

REmeber isreal air force destroyed an american ship so that egypt could be blamed ......these tactics are not new ....

secondly even if it is muslim activist ...then it is time to get worried as they are very trained and if they get going on pakistani govt. such actions like jeopardising mufti shamzi shadah case etc ......it will start war in karachi ......

barri burri situaton hay ....ALLAH hifazat farmai ...

This is just C.R.A.Z.Y
