Hmmm don't know about how the predictions but ... that's sooo very much not fair!

It is much more likely that due to upriver dam construction rather than global warming, the sea will reclaim much of the coastal regions of Sindh in the future.

Karachi is 5 meters above sea level. So its unlikely it would submerged due to global warming.

^ Our underpasses are 10 meters under sea level. They're fair game ;).

Screw global warming, unless we get proper drainage I'll be praying for drought.

^^ Geez, I was in Karachi in August '06 when the heavy showers hit the city. It was hellacious, up to half-a-foot of dirty water on the streets! Some pebbles on our Nana's roof got stuck in the rooftop drains and the water flooded all the way till the third floor! Thanks God the water didn't go much farther from the rooms adjacent to the staircase. Me and my cuzin had to unclog the drains and get the water out using wipers, planks, bats etc. After that me and my cuzin had to go get some grocery in those same dirty clothes :(. Some a$$hole thought that opening the sewers would help drain the water but the water just mixed in and still remained stagnant on the roads :( YUCK! Certain "posh" areas of the city like Clifton and Defence were also submerged. We have storms like 10 times worse here in Canada and yet nothing happens due to sensible drainage systems.

Agreed. Allah helps those who help themselves. I mean what the hell is our economy for if we can't afford a proper drainage system.

Mods - Will you please correct the title of this thread to "Karachi Under Water"
A cursory glance at present title "Karachi Underwater" makes it 'look' like "Karachi Underwear"
