Green buses have been on and off in karachi for many years. I believe they were called CNG buses. But as always they were dumped courtesy of powerful transport mafia.

Green Line is BRT (Bus Rapid Transit System) just like Lahore, ISL-RWP , Multan Metros etc

Karachi: Green Line metro bus route extended

KARACHI: The federal government has approved extension in the route of the Green Line metro bus and will undertake all necessary expenses, ARY News reported.

The mass transit project was initially planned from Surjani Town to M.A. Jinnah Road. However, the route has now been amended and will pass through Burns Road, Pakistan Chowk and then from Sindh Secretariat to Merewether Tower.
The new design of the route has been approved by engineers and experts working on the project.
Apart from this, the clock tower at Cantonment Board Office roundabout will be dismantled and a new tower will be built instead.
The cost will be borne by the federal government.
There will also be an increase in the number of buses and bus stops and the capacity of passengers after the construction of the Green Line metro system.
The extension is likely to cause a 9 percent increase in the project which costs an estimated 16 billion rupees.
The project was initially approved from Surjani Town to Gurumandir. It was extended to Merewether Tower upon its inauguration by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

I cannot see any reason stopping PMLN victory in next election.

Thats why they are still getting votes..
While others are only talks...they atleast deliver on this front...
I hope they start focusing on water treatment plants (few are under construction) and on health and education...heard this would be their punch line in 2018 campaign...

Haha. Only blind fools (yes the proud andhey looking to worship their proudly kanna king) would fall for their punchlines in 2018 when it is evident that by 2018, Punjab Gov with 10 years of performance will have absolutely nothing to show in education, health and police reforms.
2/3 majority and other than already tried Punjabi metro and debt infested Lahore orange train - they have absolutely no performance to show in governance and legislation.
