You can always take a tour trip to see Pakistan, where they will take you to places where you've never been (I hope) while you were living there (i.e if you were born and lived there for a while, or unless your were born out of Pakistan)
Re: karachi.. finally!!
aww yeah i wish i cud take a tour but i wont hav enough time. ill only be doing shaadi ki shopping so im hoping to stop by some suggested places=]
Re: karachi.. finally!!
man.... its changed so much. there are so many new shops, restaurants cafes etc etc.... but also half of it is like a construction site. you'll see flyovers in the process of being built all over the place. go check out all the new places in zamzama
Re: karachi.. finally!!
well if youre a food fan dont miss the new resturants that have cropped up on zamzama which have scrummy food, try out okra, limoncello, porta bello, the mediterranean…
Do go to the malls very nice shopping at dolmen mall (Tariq rd), forum, park towers, ashiana.
I personally LOVE the sunday bazaar (in defense phase VIII, it is a mix of zainab market, ashiana, gulf, tariq road, light house shops, rabi, furniture, upholstery, linen, shoes, bags, western wear, bookstalls, everything you can think of is there!
Re: karachi.. finally!!

Re: karachi.. finally!!
cafe flo is the best bar none, pompeii and okra excellent too. sakura and blue elephant, ban thai, for eastern. then theres the bunch of new cafes which have popped up everywhere like espresso, cafe coffeeday, roasters etc etc. pie in the sky for desserts hot n spicy, bbq tonight etc for local food but careful as its sometimes deadly for the westernised tummy.

I belive Karachi has changed so much that its hard to remember how the old times used to be.
If you like chinese food there is a restaurant on Tariq Road "Yuan Tung Chinese Restaurant" they serve very good food, you shoud try it, you won't regret it.
Re: karachi.. finally!!
You have to visit the Sunday Market, its an experience.
Although you have to go prepared, it gets very hot in there and even though its right next to the sea, the breeze isnt helpful as it blows sand in your eyes.
OTher than that Forum, Zamzama and park towers are alrite if you wanto spot young karachi people bunking school and out on dates.
Aashiana is alrite if you wanto buy unstitched cloth, i found it boring.
Tariq Road is da bomb.
Zainab Market and all the markets adjacent to it are the best place to buy cheap stuff with lots of bargaining margin, there is also another place in Saddar which is very good for finding any of the latest electric appliances at dirt cheap prices.
As for food, Village is a must so is Laal Qilla and BBQ tonite. Although make sure you make some reservations with BBQ tonite as sometimes you have to wait half an hour for a table.
Hi Teas at PC, Marriott and Copper Kettle are also something of an experience
They have sandwiches, all kinds of chaat, cakes, munchies like samosas, spring rolls, kebabs etc.
I prefer Hi Teas over lunch or dinner for some reason.
If you want visit Naheed and Dmarts 2nd levels for some nice cosmetic and perfume bargains. DMart even sells MAC ;)
