KARACHI: At least three suspected suicide bombers allegedly belonging to a banned organization blew themselves up when the law enforcement agencies attempted to arrest them after hours-long encounter in Baldia Town area of Karachi on Friday.

According to ARY OneWorld, police along with other secret agencies’ officials on Friday raided a house in Mochko Village, Sector 11 of Baldia Town on a tip-off regarding presence of suspected terrorists, suicide bombers and members of a banned organization.

When the police party arrived at the scene, the militants besieged themselves in a house and severely opposed the law enforcers’ advancement with heavy retaliatory fire.

Later, three of the suspected bombers detonated themselves to avoid detention when, according to police, their ammunition came to an end.

CCPO Karachi Waseem Ahmed informed ARY OneWorld that militants hurled hand grenades on police party and resorted to heavy fire from automatic weapons.

He said police had received confirmed reports of suicide bombers’ presence in the house, and raid was conducted on the pointation of their ring leader Rahimullah who was arrested in the wee hours Friday.

He said militants threw 5-6 hand grenades on police party, however law enforcers suffered no loss.

He said, “The area was cleared before the raid and residents were asked to vacate their house to avoid casualties of innocent citizens. We knew that the suspects had a large quantity of explosive and sophisticated weapons and they use them.”

Waseem said at least three suicide bombers were present in the hideout, and all of them blew themselves up, adding that house was collapsed due to blast crushing them in the debris.

Hope they're in hell by now. If they haven't bee caught God knows how many innocent people would've paid with their lives.

That should not be too difficult, its just one word change, usually they just blow themselves, and each other.

From the ruins, Police also recovered the body of a transporter (Shaukat Afridi) whom the militants had kidnapped and were demanding a ransom of U.S. $5 million for.
The transporter was a provider of fuel to U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

It shows two aspect:

  1. Either these terrorists are running out of money or
  2. They have a new plan to stop the supply to cross border!

Unfortunately innocent Transporter also killed! Geo told they belong to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, well looking at how they did in past and the destruction this group made, we can safely say that today Police saved at least 100+ families, hats off to Karachi Police :)

If I remember correctly few months ago (or probably last year) Karachi police caught few "militants" who admitted they were ordered to collect money (bank robberies, dacoities) for the "jihaad".

This is good news but not enough. The big terrorist leaders sending the suiciders and bombs are sitting secure in Waziristan. The Mufti Ilyas, Qari Abid Mehsud, Qari Hussain Mehsud, Qari Zafar, Baitullah Mehsud, and their organization has been training the bombers, providing them with equipments and sending them to all over Pakistan to cause mayhem and bloodshed. These names have been known and reported for many years now. Most all dead or alive suicide bombers have been traced back to them. The name of the organization seem to vary from Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to Harkat Ul Jehad Islami to Jundullah to Tehreek Taliban Pakistan but it all boils down to these people in South Waziristan. As long as they are there and continue with their evil activities, this will only be a temporary battle vicctory. The battle for survival of Pakistan seem to lead to the road to Waziristan.

point to note: the forensic/post mortem shows the people who died in the blast died of bullet shots.
