I dont know if anyone is into the construction business here, but I’m interested in knowing what latest construction projects are going on in Karachi…It would be great for the city to get a nice face lift.
I’m amazed that I haven’t heard of anyone interested in doing rennovation projects - like taking the actual colonial construction - basically facades are left - and rennovating the buildings? It would be so cool if someone did that - they could rennovate a whole street, put up shops and resteraunts and oxygen bars and cafes etc etc…
that is all being done. there is a new food street under construction, creek city and creek marina which have a big group of high rise towers, over 50, DHA waterfront, clifton waterfront, theres a ton of projects happening in karachi.
oxygen bars are now opening up in pakistan, the first just opened in lahore, resturants are opening up on a daily basis these days all over pak.
isnt so rosey thought. Massive investment has been made but there is so much systematic corruption. Contractors keep making the same projects by destroying old works and redoing it. The same roads have been built and rebuilt and broken and rebuilt and finally broken over and over. everyday theres a new pipeline somewhere, then they build a road over it, then they relay the pipeline..
There is hope, but lets just wait and see if we dont screw this up too.
