I'm facing the same problem :( I reside in kwt and my wedding is in june and i hardly know anything about the mua in Karachi. I also ought to be guided badly :P
I am also confused b/w two names which i came across after a lot googling .. and they were MONA J and sabs. bina khan seem to be charging a lot i suppose. and I'm not in favour of spending such amount jus for the couple of hours.. :P I read somewhere Mona j and sabs are charging under 25 so thats okay i suppose but I aint sure about their work can u ppl giude me please as that would be highly appreciated.. I esp joined this site to get reviews from u ppl In fact i made my own thread 2 days back but I dont seem to get much response on that . so kindly giude me .
and i have seen this new name mentioned here NABILA'S can i see some of their brides somehow? or any page they have on fb or website i can get ?
I have very less time left :(
Mary fadz, Sabs has a group on FB where you can check out pictures. If you're not in favour of spending too much, I don't think Nabila will suit you either, I'm quite sure her prices are high (though you should double-check, of course). As for the choice between Mona J and Sabs, IMHO, Sabs is the lesser of 2 evils. Mona J's make-up seems to me to have quite a cake-y effect, and it doesn't look like she uses very good products. Just be aware that there are always a lot of brides booked at Sabs, so you should try to make your decision as quickly as possible. Hope this helps.
She also did the makeup for my fashion show. There were some models I was really tensed about, whether they would look good or not after such heavy makeup, but when I saw them the day of the show I was seriously surprised:
Qadir, one of her makeup experts did my makeup. My face is very difficult to do any sort of makeup with because I have super dark circles, tiny eyes, very chubby face (not to mention the double chin), thin lips and I end up looking like a cheap lollywood actress after makeup:P He did wonders though, put a lot of emphasis on my eyes and put these really cute style of eye lashes on and kept the base to a minimum, only enough to cover the imperfections, and did a great job contouring:
I left most of the photos unedited, so you should have a look of what the makeup looks like before its edited and airbrushed before being posted. Also if saba is busy herself, get it done by qadir
Saba is naturally very good at understanding what you should have according to your features. I know she prefers white brides more than red because it gives her a better edge over the makeup (especially if the girl is too fair, because they feel darker complexions are the best to work on) oh and qadirs very understanding when it comes to what you want specifically in your makeup. Saba is almost always busy so the next best option is qadir
Qadir did my engagement makeup and I hated it. One of the fake lashes wasn't placed correctly and made me look like I had a lazy eye. I could have done a MUCH better job myself. I'm definitely avoiding Sabs for my wedding. Plus I detest the factory line atmosphere there.
I could not agree more with starrysky. I went to Sabs for my engagement and Sonia did my make up. She was rude, and some random girl totally caked me up with the base. It's factory line and extremely impolite.
thank you so much xenaba i really appreciate the intimate info u provided it to me :) thanks a bunch so i can easily go for sabs? should I? or is there any onw near to perfect in ur opinion if so do mention :)
and thank a bunch others too really appreciated it. :) and greysantomyfan is nabila's work good enough ?
mahrose i believe its on tariq road and the model bridal makeup... my sis had it done there they do it nice... my sis wore white for her nikkah and they did her makeup so nice with smokey eyes and light makeup else where... and for her rukhsaathi she wore red and it was done well then too...
i had my makeup done there - model party makeup... looked pretty nice!
I am new to this forum. I reside in Canada and getting married in September. I'm way too concerned about where to get my makeover from. I have done all my research and have thought abt Shaheen saeed for both days. Have any of you ever seen a real bride by Shaheen Saeed? what do you ppl have to say about her? I'll be wearing red and purple on baraat day and tea pink/ golden on walima.
Besides this, I can help u ppl a little with other stuff. I have already booked avari tower for my wedding reception and alisha studio for photography. My sister recently got married in karachi so I know a lotta stuff about weddings. I'll be glad to help you with any information regarding arrangements, dresses and venue.

Looking forward to your suggestions/ reviews.
Thanks!
my cousin got her engagement makeup done from shaheen saeed and she looked really nice i wasn't in karachi but i have heard really good reviews. she's a bit tan and her base was done perfectly. good thing about shaheen saeed is that all the makeup is done by herself and hence you get the attention you deserve as a bride. yeah but there's one more thing you should know my cousin do NOT wear gloss at all. she is a matt lipstick person and really only matt lipstick suits her. so when doing the lips my cousin strictly told her not to use gloss but shaheen saeed DID NOT listen to her and told her that gloss would look better in pictures and blah blah. so the result was that she was very upset and then she removed the gloss the minute she reached home and put on the lipstick she uses in daily wear. she doesn't want to go to her for her baraat and has booked rukaiya's for both mehndi and baraat. as for me i think i would go to rukaiya's too for my walima but i am not sure.
Oh well, now that has confused me a bit. Have you seen Rukaiya's work in real? what kind of look does she give and what is she good with? Light or dark colours?

i know she is good with light colour and smokey eyes as this is what my cousin wants and she first saw a couple of brides there in the salon and then booked her.
as for me i want dark smokey eye for my walima and she did not see that there so i am not sure..

my wedding is in october. i dont currently live there but i have lived there for a long time and still visit twice a year for shopping n weddings. words are not equivalent to practice.. i have told you what i know and the rest of the guppans are also putting in. its your choice in the end. i must say if you are satisfied then go for it atleast you wont have anyone to blame then and you would know it was your choice.
