hey i got quite a bit of trendy stuff from generation...they have an outlet at zamzama....another good one is pareesa, also on zamzama..it all depends on ur budget though...funkasia has gorgeous peshwaz....junaid jamshed has come out with some nicely stitched outfits with belts for women....
if uve got deep pockets go to hsy / the designers...ditto for maria b or aisha varsey....
Re: karachi boutiques
tell ur mom to got to zamzama there r loads of boutiques there i saw several but i only liked neelam's work there her work was really nice and there was another boutiqe right besides neelam it had fabulous reasonable priced dresses
Re: karachi boutiques
tariq road has few good ones
but yeh zamzama has better more pricer ones though
Re: karachi boutiques
I like Pareesa, definitely nice, original pieces. Very elegant. I'm not crazy about Exclusive. I know everyone raves about it, but it doesn't do it for me. I was born and raised in the US. However, last year I was in Karachi for a month. Within the first two weeks of visiting I felt like I could spot all the outfits that came from Exclusive. Perhaps it was the area that my family lived in, but it seemed like *everyone *shops there.
On the other hand, because I am from the states, my tastes are quite different. We've become accoustomed to the more gaudy Bollywood styles. It took me a little bit of time to appreciate the understated sophistication of finely made Pakistani garb.
Re: karachi boutiques
i bought tons of outfits from exclusive... stylish cotton casuals that last.
theres a couple boutiques next to exclusive (in the bahadrabad location) that were nice as well. can't remember the names tho, but i remember buying quite a few from there as well!
Re: karachi boutiques
i agree with zamzama, pricey but nice!
some boutiques actually weren't that pricey the last time i went ( a couple years ago, i'm sure its changed now)
shoe boutiques are great there, you can always find great deals on beautiful shoes! i bought a little over 15 pairs from zamzama and they are still in great condition after being worn numerous times.
Re: karachi boutiques
You can go check The Designers, they have a stock on all the best top designers from Maheen to Nomi Ansari.. definitely a must see!

I don’t think the above lists leave out any big stores. I add more when I get them.
Re: karachi boutiques
i've heard good things about cynosure too.
also to add, for great kurtis to wear over jeans or pants, check out Threads. they have a really good collection and they're in the Defense and Hyderi area.
for really great semi-formal and formal outfits, check Bareeze. they have a separate section in-store for their ready-to-wear Chinyere Couture line and they're very good with having it fitted and tailored if either S, M, L don't quite fit. i almost bought this gorgeous outfit from them- it was 8000 rupees- but then i ran out of time and couldn't wait for them to fix the size for me! wahhhh :*(
also like someone else here said, Junaid Jamshed has some super nice stuff too- and i think their tailors are quicker to put an outfit together for you, so if your mom buys the fabric from them, they'll tailor it to your size/specs. their nicer pieces were around 6000 rupees.
Re: karachi boutiques
SGC, did you get anything else from the lady who made your Mehndi gharara?
Re: karachi boutiques
I would really like to visit Coloré by Safia Ahmed, someday. I really like their clothes and they are not that pricey.

Re: karachi boutiques
mahi, nope, i didn't. i found that going by myself and getting things done was cheaper- her profit margins were quite high.
