Great pics, Khan Sahib. I don't know any of these places. Know Clifton a bit but that parada pic you put up...don't remember that one. My memory is only of the neighborhood I grew up in. I swear when we go to Pakistan, I will buy a D-camera, one that saves on CDs, and shoot the hell away. Won't be going many places but those who have left Pakistan after growing up would remember. I left Pakistan in '73. Long time....indeed.
Some very old memories came to life when I saw the Empress Market. I was about 5 yrs. or less and remember a day with my naana. We were passing thru and he stopped by a Thela and ordered a glass of lal-michi paani. I had never been able to describe the location. Your picture put me square at the main gate....
Today I found the name of the place....that I have longed to know of. If I remember, there are so many and would be, when I go to Pakistan, this location would be one of the many I would visit and relive the moment.
Hey Kahnjii, isn’t that St. Patrick’s Cathedral in St. Joseph’s School for Girls’?? I remeber passing by St. Joseph’s School every now and then and seeing that Cathedral, but I’m not sure. Maybe sum1 from Karachi can confirm this.

Yes Funky, you are right. It is beside St. Joseph’s Convent School. Also St. Patricks SChool is right beside it.

I know because my sister studied in St. Joseph and my mother taught there, so i used to be there often. I myself went to B.V.S School not far from there. Oh man i miss those days!

Yaar unfortunately I did not graduate from B.V.S because I migrated overseas. A school close by? Please Elaborate. Anyway I was there till class seven. Miss Fauzia? I remember a Miss Fauzia she used to teach P.T. Don’t know about Adnan Raana.

That first “somewhere in karachi” is the PNS (Pakistan National Shipping Corp) Building. It is near the Beach Luxury Hotel (Which Bheraam Avari’s residence also).
