Re: Worst Wicket keeper in the world?

**Some of Akmal's Gems in recent years

some of kamran akmal gems :

Mohammad Sami to Hughes, no run, dropped! short of a length ball, hit hard in the air with an uppishly played cut to Umar Akmal at gully who drops a golden chance

62.2
Danish Kaneria to Hussey, no run, dropped, defensively forward, inside edge onto pad, through to the keeper who spills it

62.2
Danish Kaneria to Hussey, no run, dropped, defensively forward, inside edge onto pad, through to the keeper who spills it

66.4
Danish Kaneria to Hussey, no run, dropped, pushing at a ball outside off, a thick outside edge is split by the wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal

7.2
Mohammad Aamer to Jayawardene, no run, Dropped Akmal's the culprit, Aamer bowls it in the corridor outside off and induces a nick, Akmal didn't have to move, he's dropped a sitter

52.6
Danish Kaneria to Hussey, no run, trying playing defensively from the crease, Hussey's beaten by a ball that rips past the outside edge of his upright bat
.
Subsquent replays suggest this may have been a dropped catch by Kamran Akmal. If it was it only got the faintest edge from Hussey's bat.

113.2
Mohammad Sami to Siddle, 1 run, dropped, short ball down leg, Siddle swishes at it, gloves it but it's dropped by the keeper to his left, should have taken it, the ball runs away for a single

Mohammad Sami to Mahmudullah, no run, 83.7 mph, dropped by Kamran Akmal! Thickish inside edge that darted in, and Kamran had to regroup and dive to his left. In the end, he did well to stop what would have been a sure four

Shahid Afridi to Kulasekara, 1 wide, 97.6 kph, Stumping chance missed. Not a surprise if you have followed Kamran's career. It was down the leg side and Kula had leaned forward to flick and lost balance and had stepped well out of the crease. But Kamran doesn't collect it cleanly. Oh well

Shoaib Akhtar to Sharma, 1 run, all night Akmal has been appealing without any edges, now he gets a regulation edge and he drops it!

36.6 Shoaib Akhtar to Sharma, 1 run, 138.8 kph, all night Akmal has been appealing without any edges, now he gets a regulation edge and he drops it! Poor keeping really! Beats me how this man is keeping in international cricket! Sharma goes chasing, edged away slightly wide of him, he sticks out one firm hand and it bounces off it. Really didn't have to go too far

Mohammad Aamer to Strauss, no run, 136.0 kph, dropped! Kamran, what have you done? Perfect outswinger from Aamer, Strauss edges and Akmal puts down the simplest of chances. Kamran kept so well against Australia - relatively speaking, anyway - but this is the worst possible start for him against England

70.2 Danish Kaneria to Collingwood, no run, 52.1 mph, missed stumping! Kamran's really not having a good day... Collingwood charged down the track, was beaten in the air and by the turn. He was practically walking off he was so far down, but Kamran fumbled the take, and couldn't pick the ball up before the batsman got back in

22.4
Umar Gul to Collingwood, no run, 88.3 mph, oh no! Kamran has gone from hero back to zero! Dropped! After just pulling off a stunner he's put Collingwood down first ball, it was wide, Collingwood flashed a cut and edges it towards first slip, Akmal flew across and dropped the chance

12.2 Saeed Ajmal to Yardy, 2 runs, dropped by Kamran, tough chance as it flicked the edge, Kamran didn't even get a hand on it, it just flicked the edge and went off his knee

40.2
Umar Gul to Bopara, 1 run, dropped by Kamran, it went very quickly to him off Bopara's flashing outside edge, but Kamran could not hold on

40.6 Mohammad Hafeez to Morgan, no run, 97.7 kph, edged, and dropped by Kamran! It was a really thick edge and a big deflection as Morgan tried to cut, the keeper did well to even get a glove to that

18.5
Umar Gul to Yardy, 1 run, 85.9 mph, Kamran Akmal drops it! Calamity Kamran strikes again! Gul finds a thickish outside edge that goes low and wide to Kamran, diving one-handed to his left and he couldn't quite hold on. Looks to have damaged his finger as well

44.1

Wahab Riaz to NL McCullum, 1 run, somethings in Pakistan cricket never change. Like the fact that inevitably, Kamran Akmal will drop a catch. He's done it again. Short ball, Nathan gets a top edge behind his head and it was a dolly for Kamran who was moving back. And he put it down.

30.1 Abdur Rehman to Sangakkara, 5 wides, Kamran fluffs a stumping, all is well with the world, Rehman beat Sanga with some flight, and angling it down the leg side, he got some extra bounce again, which beat Kamran totally, Sanga was in no position to get back

34.6 Abdur Rehman to Sangakkara, 1 wide, Kamran, oh Kamran. Another fluffed stumping. Same as before, Sanga jumps out a mile looking to flick. Rehman sees him and fires it wide, Sanga misses and is halfway down the track. Kamran whips the bails off. Find the missing link - yes, Kamran did not collect. I now know the only weak link in Pakistan's side. It is behind the stumps.**

Kamran Akmal wicketkeeping

Hi All,
Please feel free to comment on kamran akmal's wicket keeping here.
What do you think is it incidental or match fixing.
What are you waiting for......

Re: Kamran Akmal wicketkeeping

We are waiting for the promised proofs from you Mr Zulqarnain Haider. :D

Re: Kamran Akmal wicketkeeping

OMG!!! Now there are too many threads abt this khatmal… :smack:

Re: Kamran Akmal wicketkeeping

i suggest pakistan play without a wicket keeper

just have a man stand about midway between the boundary and the stumps to prevent the ball from crossing the rope. At least this will eliminate the frustration of any dropped catches and missed stumpings etc.

Add an extra slip instead of the wicket keeper.

Re: Kamran Akmal's keeping - Chronicles of his disastrous glove work

Great job...but do not drop... :D

Re: Why Kamran Akmal stays...

I don't think its the psyche issue with K Akmal...I guess its his bio rhythm which lets him down at some very crucially given moments...so he becomes un-responsive which leads to disaster for him, his team and the nation...

To me...he is an extreme risk to keep the wicket especially in the knockout matches...because we just don't know when he will become un-responsive...so a change of the keeper is an absolute necessity if Pakistan want to move on with some respectibility... :)

Re: Kamran Akmal's keeping - Chronicles of his disastrous glove work

With all this thing about Psyche or confidence ..... sorry folks but the Problem is not that but rather a technical one

His movements while following the Balla and his hands positioning r a big factor him dropping sitters ..... Watch him move and watch his head/eyes and u'll notice the guy is more watching the Batsmen than the ball ..... there r some basinc rules for close catchers/Slip fielders and keepers and one of them is to watch the Ball and not the Batsmans movement ..... as a fielder in the deep or on the boundary u should watch the batsmen movements to orientate urself to field the ball but not as a close in fielder

Further ..... For a keeper of his height he is standing too tall behind the stumps ..... that's why u see he often misses leg glances which r low and in the sub continent u should expect a lot of low stuff and if u watch him getting to the balls which stay low u'll notice his legs are hardly bend which puts a lot of strain on his Back so he tends to shorten/arrest his sideway movements (in bend position) which makes him miss either edges/catches or balls that wide down the leg

Another big mistake that he does is, he tries to catch almost every ball in front of his Body another sign of a deep/boundary fielder .... u should only catch balls that make u either bend down and leap forward with arms almost outstreched and hands/wrist position soft so u can move them with the line of the ball or a high bouncing ball where u've to leap/jump to reach/catch it

For any other ball u stech ur arms (slightly bend) towards the line of the ball and follow it sideways into ur hands ..... the position of the hands/arms start from line of the ball and end up towards 2nd or 3rd Slip .... since he puts his body behind the line of the ball he cramps himself for room when trying to softly catch the ball
**
It's sheer incompetence on behalf of the team management that they haven't addressed these very basic matters in regard to his problems ..... i mean the combined brain of Alam, Waqar, Afridi and who else is there to assess ..... it's too easy to blame Akmal ..... he has shown what he can/can't .... but he didn't select himself into the 15 for the WC and nor for the playing 11**

Re: Kamran Akmal’s keeping - Chronicles of his disastrous glove work

Not sure if someone already posted the pic of Mrs Rose Taylor

Re: Kamran Akmal's keeping - Chronicles of his disastrous glove work

Why did Kamran Akmal have to walk back to the team hotel?
Because he failed to catch the bus!

Re: Kamran Akmal’s keeping - Chronicles of his disastrous glove work

For any innocent readers who trust every thing posted, we must clarify that this dancing thing is NOT a real Kamran Akmal, its fake indian or Bengali…
He didn’t drop his Lungi!
