Anyone know anything about this designer? used to be Karma?? is he any good after splitting???

My walima dress is being made by this person.. any tips/suggestions for working with Kamiar Rokni would REALLY be appreciated.

Yea he used to be with Karma. He has a group on facebook, so just search him up and you can see some pictures of his designs. I am not sure about anything else .

SoontobeMrs.BB, you can refer to my "So Upset" thread in this forum for my latest experience with him. Be sure to be on his back at all times which is one thing I terribly regret. Hope it all goes well for you.

Thanks-- i read it. Sigh. Looks like it is close to impossible to get a quality dress if you live outside of pakistan.

Oh my bad! I thought I had seen him on facebook with pictures of his designs but thats just his fan page with no pictures and there is another group with designs he did when he was with karma still

I like his designs. His website is kamiarrokni.com. There are'nt any bridals that I see there though.

i would prefer karma(amna kardar) mehdi or even hsy over kamiar...hee is more into pret clothing rather than bridal

karma is maheen kardar. amna kardar does jewellery separately.

i always thought kamiar and maheen were a better team together when they were helming karma than either of them on their own.

In my opinion, Kamiar Rokni is so much better than Maheen Kardar. Maheen hardly ever listen's to her client's opinions and is very set in her ideas. Kamiar Rokni is more open to suggestion and his work is exquisite.

However, I don't have any personal experience with his walima dresses. I've just seen his red bridals that friends and family chose and I really loved his fabric, kaam and color choice.

My only problem with his work would be the timing factor but that seems to be the issue with most designers. Always tell them that you want the dress at least a couple of weeks before you actually do because you may have to push for resizing or other changes when you see the prepared dress.
