Does anyone have the recipe for kali mirchi ghosth that tried true and tested or even some kinda simple stew i can make with goat meat!! I want comfort food!!! Has to be easy.
Re: kali mirchi ghosth
I've made this a few times, my father loves it.
Cook the pieces of lamb with 2 cups of water to which you've added ginger/garlic paste, 2 tablespoons of vinegar till the meat is tender and most of the water has dried-up.
In a seperate 'karhai' or wok heat 5 tablespoons of oil and add-in zeera and the round laal mirchi, then remove the meat from the stock and add it to the oil. Beat 1/2 cup of yoghurt and add it to the meat along with 5-6 tablespoons of the reserved stock. Crush a tablespoon of black pepper and add it to the meat as well.. green chilli's and dhaniya if you like!
Re: kali mirchi ghosth
Gina - sounds yum - is it a dry dish or a gravy type dish?
Re: kali mirchi ghosth
sounds yum Gina and so simple no onions and tomatoes :)
Re: kali mirchi ghosth
It's pretty dry, but the yoghurt and stock coats the meat well. In our house we'd cut-up potatoes like you'd cut-up home-fries and add to it and have it with 'daal chawal'.

kali mirchi ghosth
Sounds great!! Will def try it. I found a few recipes online and i sort of altered it. I took goat meat and marinated it fresh lehsan adrak paste, 1 tbsp if dahi, i finely chopped tomato and a good pinch if garam masala and zeera powder. Oh and i added 1/4 tsp of haldi because I just like haldi because of its benefits. After an hour, i added 1 med pissi hui kachi pyaaz and cooked it on low heat till meat was almost cooked in its own water. Then in a wok, I took 3 tbsp oil, added sookha garam masala like long, hari ilachi, bay leave, and then added the meat and about 3/4 tbsp kali mirch. Bhooned it until meat was cooked and added hari mirch an hara dhaniya. It turned out pretty good and the pyaaz added a hint of sweetness that went well with te kali mirch.
