I’m in a predicament here…see I’m scouting for a new car these days. Something bigger and 4 doorsy than my present Honday civic coupe. Since I’m a big proponent of energy efficient vehicles and environment friendliness, naturally I’m inclined towards something NOT Suburban. I’m thinking more along the lines of a good SUV (Hybrid, of course) or, well, of course, another Honda civic.
After doing some numbers the story is that even a just-plain-'ol-gas-swigging Honda civic sedan does more gas mileages than Toyota Highlander Hybrid suv.
Civic figures are City: 30, Hwy 38 (My present civic does around 35 on average so I’m guessing that’s same for the new one), while Highlander is: City 32, Hwy 27 (I’m guessing an average of 30 for this one).
There is clearly a 5 mpg difference here. Now my question is not about which one to buy, it’s more like a moral dilema: Can I live with myself (and I never had a problem with this one before) by picking Highlander knowing that I’m doing 5 mpg less than what I have been doing for past 8 years? That I’m a 5 mpg morally corrupt person? As you know, as you advance in life you’re supposed to “improve” not go down the drain.
Knowing you being the epotime of moral correctness (as evident by your various quranic references etc) I need your help to figure it out for me.
there were some nrikshaw threads about the slogans on them, there was an article that did a rikshaw review which is dunno where, i dont even have the original anymore.
About a month ago, I got a VW Jetta. I LOVE that car man. I filled up the tank 160 miles ago and still have a little over a quarter of a tank. Was also able to fit 3 car seats across the back. I am mobile. I am in HEAVEN! No more big SUVs for me man, not now that I have (what my dear hubby calls) my "go-cart"!!!!

i thinkits a 20 gallon tank. It really is good on fuel, esp compared to the hummers and various assorted tank-sized beasts that my dear hubby prefers...
