Kai Po Che Movie Rating – 4/5

Kai Po Che has been one of the most awaited films this year. So if you ask , does it live up to its hype that it has created over the past few weeks. Then my answer is a definite yes.

The Story is similar to the plot in the book “3 mistakes of my life” though with a few changes. It is a story of 3 friends Ishaan Bhatt, Omi Shastri and Govind who are trying to make a mark for themselves in Gujrat. They set up a sports academy and they come across an amazing talent who plays cricket awesomely. Set in the exciting times of 2000’s, Rest of the story is about the implications on their lives and relationships by real life incidents that happened in those times like Godhra train incident, Gujrat riots and IND- AUS series.

The story is crisper and shorter when compared to the original story of book. First half of the movie is very casual and funny, it passes off like a breeze but the second half takes a sudden turn and goes into a very serious mode. If you read the book, then there is slight possibility that you may be a little disappointed towards the end. But none the less the performances of the actors and pace of the movie will keep you happy.

Abhishek Kapoor has done a great job, with the way he has handled the script and the way he has executed this whole film. He has come leaps and bounds from his last venture “Rock On”. Screenplay is very engaging at all times, never in the movie you feel left out. Music is very soothing but keeps you asking for more. Background music by Hitesh Sonik deserves a special mention as the background music elevates the feel of the film to a whole new level. Performances wise there are no complains, each and every character has done theor role to perfection. Be it Shushanth’s Aggresion or Rajkumar Yadav’s resilience or Amit’s ignorance every frame is a treat to watch. Amrita as Shushant;s sister looks very endearing. But RajKumar Yadav’s performance is the one that shines through the most.

Grab your close friends and just go watch the movie.

Re: Kai Po Che

Great movie, didnt have much expectations and had not even seen the trailers of the movie. it is a great surprise, not a typical bollywood movie. Good story, good acting and good casting

Re: Kai Po Che

I watched this film over the weekend, and what a great bromance story.
I haven't read the book, but in the movie, the story was well told. The 3 friends executed their characters superbly. It's a well paced 2 hour film without any songs.
