Re: Kabul-ization of Kohat, Bannu, and Sawat
I agree - extremism is beginning at home. A mother can bring moderation to her children's behavior, as she's the main one present at home most of the time. But just think about your typical little village or small town or shack areas in urban areas, and think about how women rear their kids:
Beating - teaches children that if you use enough violence, you can get someone to do what you want.
Selective gender rules: Boys can run around at 1 a.m. and they'll get yelled at, but beti jee can't leave the mother's nazar. Girls' education isn't emphasized at home - how do you expect the boys to grow older and respect and recognize the need to educate women, when their sister was raised jaahil and married off at 17?????
General Discipline problems: I have yet to see a desi mom in Pakistan that has proper control over her kids. They run around wild, unsupervised, outside in the galian. Maybe some aunty is looking on. But she's more concerned about spying on neighbor's husband who might be doing some fishy business.
Mannerisms: I don't care WHAT anyone says. Kids in Pakistan have very little manners.
Why now after 911? How come these areas were peacfull until Mushy decided to Butt in this so called war on terror? Our desi mom is the same and better than any of "burger" moms. Their children are superficial, drugy, westernized brats who are unaware of their identity and faith. Some of those are women too. :)
Re: Kabul-ization of Kohat, Bannu, and Sawat
shriek: Again, may I bring your attention to what our pompous religious elite say all the time "But we're muslims, we're so much better than that". Now don't start the whole "well-they-do-it-too" argument. Our religion has a plethora of information on how to raise your children into well-mannered adults.
zb779: I think you're looking for the East vs. West padha wala thread. yawn Its not about being Westernized is better or not. There are clear cut outlines of how to raise your kids and what values to instill in them, Islamically, and Pakistani parents - whether the stereotypical mohallay wali or the Americanized mem - are not doing their job.
Re: Kabul-ization of Kohat, Bannu, and Sawat
^ All I said was that it depends upon the company and I have seen better kids unlike your rant of pakistani kids are the most bad tameez in the whole world..
God, you are such a desi Ann Coulter.. No wonder you have own term, a PCG! ![]()
