kabhi yaad aao to is tarhaa
keh lahoo kee saree tamaazatein tumhian dhoop dhoop summait lain
tumhian rung rung nikhaar dain
tumhain hurf hurf mein soch lain
kabhi yaad aao to is tarhaa
keh dil-o-nazar mein uttar sako
kabhi hudd say jesay jannoan berhay
to awaaz bunn kay bikhar sako

kabhi yaad aao to is tarhaa
kabhi khoul sako shab-e-wasl mein
kabhi khoon-e-dil mein doar sako
surr-e-raah guzar jo millo kabhi
na theher sako na guzar sako
mera durd phir say ghazal banay

kabhi gungunnao to is tarhaa
meray zakham phir say gullab hoan

kabhi muskurao to is tarhaa
meri dharkanein bhi laraz utthain

kabhi choat khao to is tarhaa
jo nahin, to phir baray shauq say
sabhi raabtay sabhi zaabtay
kabhi dhoop chaaoan mein toare do
na shikast-e-dil ka sitam saho
na suno kissi ka azzab-e-jaan
na kissi say apni khalish kaho
youn hee khush phirro, youn khush raho
na ujjar sakain na sunwwar sakein

kabhi dil dukkhao to is tarhaa
na simmat sakein na bikhar sakein
kabhi bhoole jao to is tarhaa
kissi taur jaan say guzar sakein
