Ok, so most of you have ‘great’ desktops, some of you have messy ones, some have ultra-sophisticated ones, some quite complex ones… Some windows, some non-windows

Lots lots desktops have been paraded here…

Now, here is one. This is my office computer. Its hazy bcz the usual resolution is 1024x768 and in this pic I decreased the pic resolution to fit in (Ah yes, the same problem many others faced)…

Anyway, this desktop has certain specials…

  1. I don’t have the time, and the techie skills to implement complex ‘skins’, right Gizzy and nooman

  1. Its basically default. It has Webshots, which change every day. Lots of pictures from here there and everywhere.. (this is today, ok!)

  2. The Task bar is on aut-hide too. Ofcourse!

Bhai who??? me… ohh!
okay! there are short cut keys also. It’s a matter of personal choice. Frankly I don’t wanna mess up my Desktop with duplicate shortcuts when I do have them some where. No need to put them in startup but have a short-cut key…
But again it’s your choice…
Some people, including me, don’t like Desktop filled with such icons that they rarely use… hmmmmmm???

I agree with Shaheen, I am the same.. I don’t like a cluttered desktop… Whats the use of the background pic then if you fill the desktop with icons…??

Oh well, thanks to all of you who liked it. Though my purpose in posting this was to illustrate that simple can be beautiful too… (look its not glitzy or ultra-sophisticated like some others that have been posted)

Anyway, some answers..

  1. Yes, you are right. It is a castle in France. Actually I am a great admirer of castles. They are such complex architecture and with appropriate lightening, can be quite mesmerizing. Most of my WebShots have architecture masterpieces.

  2. No, my Start Menu is not long as well. It is also very basic. Remember it is my office computer, and essentially these are the programs I use, which I have in my Quick Link in the Taskbar…

a. Outlook
b. Explorer
c. Word
d. Excel
e. Calculator
f. SAP R/3 - Two different clients
g. Windows Explorer

Simple is better.... I always say.

I think the missey desktops are for pple who don't know how to find things...pple with short memory or may be with no memory at all...LOL

Any how KISS is very nice word and good principle to live by.... it makes life very ..o I don't know simple I guess.

desktop is nice. simple and clean. no one needs more than 5 - 8 icons on their desktop.
if you need more, put them in the toolbar.

the only thing i would do differently is that i would change the background and make ir black…

i’ll post my default web desktop soon as well..later on. thats also ver simple..
