Chaudhry has reportedly expressed ‘complete faith’ in Justice Rana Bhagwandas who was sworn in as acting chief justice Saturday.
Justice Chaudhry, currently facing a presidential reference, believes he will receive a fair hearing before the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) headed by Justice Bhagwandas and this could facilitate his staging ‘an honourable comeback’, sources close to him have said.

Chaudhry sahab called a reporter in his office, while in teh capacity as CJ to lecture him about writing articles about his son's hanky panky.
chaudhry saab then used the council of SCJ to force TV stations to publically apologize.
can you imagine if someone else had done that? what would people be saying.
This is public info, how is he going to deny it...his defense is going to focus less on denying it and more on tangents and all, making it a political and prcedural issue, rather then deny his
I have not even gone into the whole issue of him pulling the strings to get his laadla some naukri that barkhordaar did not demonstrate the aptitude for.
In the end, even if details of his guilt wer epublished and hand delivered to everyone, there are thoe amng us who will want to exonerate him just becuase they dont like Musharraf.

That's called judicial privilege...and no less illegal then Mushie appointing his cronies to various high profile positions...and definitely not as egregious and illegal as mushie usurping the whole constitution and being a dictator...

as I said, ppl who are against musharaf will be willing to look away at the wrong doings of others.
right nwo wer are talking about CJ, let the council decide whether what he did was right or wrong.
I may have to look up details on judicial privilege again, but rom what I recall, what he did is not covered there. public good is one thing, personal agenda is another.
lastly, if the allegations of him using his office to get his son choice jobs are true, then that is another issue.

Institutions need to be strengthened, rather than weaked. People don't have isuues with CJ being suspended but rather the manner in which he was suspended. There are also feelings that he was suspended because he was independent minded and refused to tow the line, which people have issues with.
Musharraf has been a better leader than his Nawaz and BB. I become disillusioned with him a while back. We need people who are reformers rather than ones that maintain staus quo. Also holding onto two public offices is wrong, particularly that of Chief of Army. Institutions need to be strengthened, personaliites should be immaterial. His holding onto the office does not help the development of institutions.

Acting CJ says judiciary working within constitutional limits
Acting Chief Justice Rana Bhagwandas on Thursday while expressing views on the upcoming situation in the country said that any good news depends if all legal proceedings goes well without any hassles. He stated this while talking to Geo News, keeping in view of the prevailing situation due to chief justice crises in Pakistan. However, he said, no time frame in this regard could be predicted. Justice Bhagwandas categorically denied any pressure by council’s proceedings and said judiciary is working within law and constitutional limits.
Justice Rana bluntly refused to comment over Supreme Judicial Council issue when asked.

God Bless Rana Bhagwandas and free judiciary in Pakistan. Something that many thought would not have been possible under President Musharaf.

As President Musharraf has demonstrated by accepting the Supreme Court's decision the judiciary is free in Pakistan, like it has never before in it's history.

There was a petition filed against Bhagwandas being ACJ of Pakistan on the basis of him being non-muslim by some bigot maulvi. Thankfully it was thrown out.
