just wonderin

what fate awaits us Muslims as believed by other religions like christianity or judism or watever…

just as we consider them as non believers who r destined to hell.. do they consider the same ?

Re: just wonderin

yes. though I think jews have a different concept of hell from Christians and Muslims but given that they're the chosen people versus us Goyim its probably pretty much along the same lines.

Re: just wonderin

yep if u dont think their way of life is da shiznit u're pretty much doooooomed. :(

goodness! i just understood why jews hang out with jews and muslims with muslims!

Re: just wonderin

nooo..as muslims we dont believe that they will go to hell..
even there are some ppl who r real close to Allah who r jews or christians..only Allah knows ..
we should never think like that ..bcz Allah only knows what is goin to happen to anyone .

Re: just wonderin

what crap!

Look what Allah says in the Quran:
“And whoever desires other than Islam as religion, never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.” (Aal ‘Imraan: 85).

Re: just wonderin

But Allah also says:

[2:63] Surely, those who believe and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians - whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds, shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.

Re: just wonderin

your going to hell or heaven depends on your KARMA, not your religion.

Re: just wonderin

I remember reading that once Sahaba (?) were discussing the religion and thus the fate of Prophet (PBUH)'s forefathers and they were advised to "not worry about others but only themselves"

We, as Muslims, believe that Islam is the only religion. However, there might be some concessions for Believers who are not Muslims, there might not be. But yes, every religion says that the followers of that religion are the chosen and guided one.. the rest have all strayed :(

Re: just wonderin

Unfortunatley, you are taking this ayah out of context. This ayah specifically talks about those believing Jews, Christians and Sabians who were firm in their faith prior to the prophethood of Muhammad:saw: and those were the previous Muslim ummah of time. Try reading some ayaahs before and after this one too.

Re: just wonderin

what do u mean by that? can you elaborate?

Re: just wonderin

"your going to hell or heaven depends on your KARMA, not your religion"
It means that it does not matter what religion you follow, as long as you do good to humanity you will go to heaven.
We humans keep fighting on things we are not even sure off. Some religion says heaven is this others say its that. And now some of us will again start argueing that my religion has the right definition but the truth is that it does not matter. Ultimately if we do good work we go to heaven (whichever is the right one) and if we do bad we go to hell (which ever it is).

Re: just wonderin

Naryan would you mind if i ask u a question?

are you muslim?

Re: just wonderin

No I do not mind. I am not a muslim

Re: just wonderin

oh ok...........

Re: just wonderin

INSHAHALLAH u'll Go to Heaven... my prayers are with u :)

Re: just wonderin

I pray for you too, if everything goes on right we will meet there. But truely I am in no hurry :).

Re: just wonderin

but it does not state that we can decide on who is going to enter heaven or hell ..Allah is the one who will decide..
n do u think by saying kalmah we have completeely embraced islam..

infact there are pious among jews and christians too
we dont know how close they are in the eyes of Allah in piety so we cant really say

i will try to search the reference from sorrah bakrah to post here ..

Re: just wonderin

Mods please start a different thread if you feel like because I am going off the topic now.

This is another question which I thought some time back, we all have heard of the real faith before the prophet Mohamed PBUH, I still have not come across independent source. Can somebody give me an independent source of this believe. I am sure there should be some original bible or torah which we all believe as Alhamic books as Quran mentions, to be somewhere.

The context of this ayat is that Allah is talking about Moses:as: and reminding Jews about the convenant that Allah took from them. And then this verse comes. And don’t forget to look at the tense of this verse. It is present and Future. So, yes, this verse could be used for reference to the People of the book at the time of Huzur :saw:, but can also be referred to future.

BTW: there are more ayats that support my argument which are as follows:

Chapter : 3 (Al-`Imran) Verse : 111

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin good and forbid evil and believe in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, it would have, surely, been better for them. **Some of them are believers, but most of them are transgressors. **

Here Quran is saying, although most of them are transgressors, yet some of them are believers. Meaning they have believed in the original message of the book, like there’s none but Allah and have believed in the day of Judgement. This argument is further supported by next few verses, like:

[3:114] They are not all alike. Among the People of the Book, **there is a party who stand by their covenant; they recite the word of Allah in the hours of the night and prostrate themselves before Him. **

and

[3:115] They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin good and forbid evil, and hasten to vie with one another in good works. **And these are among the righteous. **

In the above verse, Allah is talking about people of the book, meaning, christians and jews.

And for their their good deeds, Allah promises them reward.

[3:116] And whatever good they do, they shall not be denied its due reward, and Allah well knows those who guard against evil.

The whole idea is that Allah knows the hearts of people, not you or me. And only HE has the power and right to send anyone he wishes to heaven and hell and NOT YOU OR ME.

All we can do is pray to Allah to guide us to the right path and to fill our hearts with his Love so that we are saved, and not be from amongst transgressors.

Wassalam…

Re: just wonderin

Right on! JeevayPakistan

And let's not forget that Allah included the 'Sabians' in the list to show us that His Mercy is not limited to those of Abrahamic faiths.
