What does being tolerant of all faiths have to do with political correctness and " looking cool"?
It realy dose : ) going against your Deen to say the stuff which makes you look more "bright minded liberal" there are lots of people around here who do this on regular basis, knowning what they are doing.
I think its pretty silly to assume only muslims can enter heaven.
Yea mayb they can only enter muslim heaven, if there is a separately one ofcourse.
Christians and Jews believe only they will enter heaven....Islamic belief says people who believe in God and the last day and are pious will enter heaven. Major belief is you have to believe in the last messenger of God to enter heaven but God knows best.
Hinduism on the other hand doesn't have a concept of hell and heaven so errmmm I don't know what to assume about them.
We cant really assume anything about anyone Reem. Quran settles the matter very well when its said, “Lakum Deenukum, Wali addeen”. I dont think inter religions Debate will ever come to a productive end. Its just a deadlock.
As for the picture, the fundamental and the core concept of Islam is TAUHEED. I feel sorry for Salman Khan because it looks like he has somewhat submerged or maybe confused the whole concept of Islam with Humanity. Well, for some, Humanity can be a religion of its own, but for the Muslims, its just a sub-branch of the religion they follow. Islam teaches us to be a better human and take care of other humans too, even better than ourselves, and when a good Muslim strives to be a better human, he is actually following the teachings of Islam. Maybe to be a good Muslim first and most of all.
If someone believes that Humanity is the actual code of life and beyond any/all religions, they should renounce their faith and become a Humanist.
I dont mind whatever Salman Khan has hung on his walls anyway, after all just as Niksik said, we should focus more at their shaking bums and well he has to please all his fans :k: Good for him.
^I'm not really "assuming" anything about anyone...I'm only quoting from the beliefs of different religions. None of them say every path leads to God (except modern hinduism of course). If it is true then even the Satanists must be on the right path.

One could also make the argument that such statements may make one look "more bright minded fundamental" and " there are lots of people around here who do this on regular basis, knowing" such statements may be politically correct and " look cool" among the conservatives.
southie, probably you forgot or may be intentionaly ignoring the fact that i qouted from Qur'an Kareem, it was not my own comment : ) and by the way my comment was not directed towards you or any other non-muslim on board, it was for those who believe in Quran at the first place, those who dont, can say anything, no problem about that.
^ no I did not intentionally ignore the verse. I also recognize the comment was directed at the progressive minded folks who follow their imaan while being tolerant of others. I have a lot of respect for them and consider them to be the best representation of spirituality. I was merely pointing out that your comments about such progressives may actually be politically correct in this forum and make you look cool ( as evidenced by the likes). Just using your own words to show how a person with a different perspective sees the situation.

well bhai saab, where in the world did i say dont be tolerant towards other beliefs? stop putting words into my mouth, dont twist the simple things. clearly saying out loud what my belief says, is a bad thing? dont you think you are the one here not showing any tolerance for what I believe in?
why were you hurt when I quoted from Al Quran? and what made you feel insecure and point out the likes : ) grow up already

You don't have to come out and say in words. Reading between the lines message is clear.
I was not hurt by the way - now you are putting words into my thought!
One can pick a verse from any religious body of work - not everything has to be taken literally. I disagrees with ar least one verse in the Gits. The Bible also has msome verses that any rational person would disagree with.
Just because someone differs from your POV does not mean they are insecure. In many ways your comments appear to be representative of the fundamental & intolerant right.
As for the grow up already comment - wont respond in kind. Prefer to stick to logic to make a point.

alright fair enough, you disagree with the books of your belief, i dont. whats there to argue then? i'm not asking you to take everything litery in your books, similary you cannot tell me what to do. thats what tolerance is, tolerance does not mean twisting your own Deen and its teachings to make them accceptable for others. you accept my book, and believe in what it says, you will be my brother. you dont do that, no problem i still respect your right to believe in anything you want. but i dont give you the right to tell me what should i do and say and think. is that clear enough?
and by the way, go back and read all my posts in this thread and how you responded them, and then decide who daviated or atleast tried to. cheer up buddy, no hard feelings.

I think you have a serious comprehension issue. I am NOT telling you what to think. I am expressing a different opinion. Kapish. Of course no hard feelings buddy.
And by the way my likes comment was in response to your political correctness and looking cool comment. I was making a point that from the likes you have received one could use your own words to describe the basis for your posts. I concede I was a bit too subtle. Next time I will connect the dots for ya!

Seriousness ki baath hi nahin uththee. In a debate there will be differences of opinion. To me at least when someone disagrees with me I don't interpret that as they telling me what to do. I would advice you to follow the same philosophy. Good luck!!
