Just Thinking

Would you guys feel inadequate if ur wife earnt more money than u?? :hmmm:

Re: Just Thinking

i wouldn't

Re: Just Thinking

a friend of mine earns more than her hubby.... as a result he suffers from low self-esteem.
she have to constantly make him feel more "powerful" in other aspects like more say in da household decisions, always hav to give in etc. last i heard she opened a joint account and let him manage da household expenses. i guess he feels less threatened tat way. afterall money is power. :D

Re: Just Thinking

yes Money has alots of power but not more then if you love your hubby, Love is a great power itself:) isn't it ?

Re: Just Thinking

are you sure?? because i think they are acting like a family.

Re: Just Thinking

i wudnt know for sure.... tats da wife's side of story.

Re: Just Thinking

lol now I wana marry someone less than a doc :D

Re: Just Thinking

My wife's a doc and currently in residency so I make significantly more than her, but once she finishes residency, about 2 years, she's going to start making a boat load more than I do. There is no shame if your wife makes more money than you. I know that we struggled through thick and thin together, I know that I helped her get through med school, and I'm completely OK with the fact that she will be the main bread earner once she's out of residency.

First of all, God gives to whomever He wills as much as He wills, so we can't complain because God is just. Secondly, the prophet, Muhammed, married Khadija, who was a successful business woman and very likely made more money that him. In fact, if I remember correctly, he went to work FOR her.

So guys, don't worry about it, don't feel threatened, feel blessed that you can sit back and relax a little.

Re: Just Thinking

well i'd be happy for her ... coz it'd be OUR family that the two of us wud be making :) it wud not be a matter of MY / HER ...
U know ... i am told that i m being very optimistic when i talk like this :p
but then , thats wht i expect when i get married and my wife happens to be a working lady .. :)

Re: Just Thinking

No I wouldn’t. No matter what she earned, it would still be my responsibility to provide for the family and she wouldn’t have any such obligation.

Re: Just Thinking

I wudn't cuz then she can take care of me and the household, and I can relax.

Re: Just Thinking

that would be GREAT!!!

Re: Just Thinking

Yes i would, If she earns more and symbolizes it to superiority; same goes for guys too. Money, strength and power can never concur one's heart, instead, its the respect, trust and loyality that matters most.

Re: Just Thinking

^^ Agreed :) i wont tolerate any bossy attitude that comes with earning more money :) and i guess no sensible man wud do that :D

Re: Just Thinking

i would surely feel inadequate if he earns less..

how could we shop with lil money :D :D (J/k)

no problems with me :)

Re: Just Thinking

Money is power and every man wants power in their household...if you cant control your household you are bound to feel inferior...
