'Normal' coke is too sweet. Maybe they are trying to reduce their sugar content as opposed to making up for the large fries and burger!

waisay I read somewhere recently, that diet coke is not any better than normal coke, diet even brings some damage to your brain cells or something

Well. Coke contains more sugar then Diet Coke. So thats why people order it. For example my dad drinks any diet soda with a meal because he cant drink regular soda.
