Just so I don't get my hopes up

Before Christmas, I applied for a PDP (professional development programme) with a pharmaceutical/diagnostics company in Ireland. They basically recruit people just out of college and rotate them around different departments for 2 years, so its excellent experience.

During Christmas holidays they called me unexpectedly for a phone interview! I wasn’t expecting it at all, they should have notified me beforehand.

Long story short, I didn’t get through that screening process.

But yesterday, I got an email from them saying:

*Dear Huma, *
*We are excited that you have explored career opportunities here at XYZ in particular the Professional Development Programme. *

The Professional Development Programme appointments have now been selected, however we would like to designate you as an active candidate, as we are very interested in considering you for future opportunities.

Your resume has been added to our talent pool, therefore, we ask that you continue to keep your information up to date. Just sign in at our online career center to update your resume.

Again, thank you for applying for career opportunities with XYZ. We wish you all the best in your job search.

Sincerely,
Talent Acquisition
XYZ

Why send me this mail 3 months after the refusal email they sent me after the phone interview? Are they actually interested in me? Do they actually think of me as an active candidate? Or do companies send these kinda mails around to people all the time?

Also, lets assume that I get a job (Inshallah) after I graduate in a couple of months time. And they get me to sign a contract for a year or something. And then this company calls me back to offer me a position, would it be possible for me to leave the other job, even though I have signed a contract?

:rotfl: I’ve already gotten my hopes up!

anyone?

Re: Just so I don’t get my hopes up

Huma,

The email by the looks of it is just re-iterating the fact that they still have your resume is on file, however once again politely advised you that they could not offer you a position at this time, my personal suggestion is dont get your hopes up :k:

As far as signing a contract goes, well it all depends on stipulations and terms of ur contracts, if in case this company does contact you make sure you dont get penalised by your then employer :k:

thankoooo  duur duur se
