Just sad

I’ve noticed for the past week or so, I am just plain sad.. not always, but throughout the day.. and for no apparent reason…

for example, a few days ago, I was watching a tv show, and on came a scene where the characters were fighting, and then when they finally became friends again and were eating ice cream, I started crying. I paused the show, cried for a couple of minutes, then was fine and turned it back on.

A saw a cat in a commercial and cried.

And while driving home from work one day, I started crying just because.

wth ???

Yesterday, I found out about something that happened between family and last night I cried myself to sleep (there was a reason for that, but it was completely unrelated to everything). And I think I over reacted to the reason for me being upset last night, although I am still trying to get over it.

What is wrong with me? I am happy in my life otherwise. There is nothing that I am so angry or upset about to make me sad and just cry.

Any suggestions?

Re: Just sad

Could be hormones. Any change you could be pregnant? Or PMS?

Re: Just sad

Nope, no chance I am on BC pills and havent missed a dosage or anything like that.. I am due for my next one probably next week or so... could PMS be that bad? if yes, this hasnt happened to me before, ever ! So I was ruling that out as well

Re: Just sad

Yep. I'm on BC and sometimes my emotions get the best of me too.

Re: Just sad

Yep, sounds like PMS. Wait and see how you feel after your next cycle.

Re: Just sad

PMS is likely the culprit.....but don't rule out hormonal changes due to other things.
Get checked.

Re: Just sad

may be u depressed

Re: Just sad

freakin PMS ... uughhh

Re: Just sad

It seems like the hormones getting the best of you. Bc can also cause the mood swings and all as you're getting your hormones artificially.. And once you stop bc it's likely to get worse so be careful of such things..

Re: Just sad

I will get off bc once i am ready to start planning a family, this is the best method of protection for myself...

but these damn mood swings are not fun.. my poor hubby, i yell at him for the dumbest things sometimes, i cant help it :(

Re: Just sad

Looks like a nervous breakdown. It sometimes happens to me. I usually get some wine and a good movie. Of course, when my husband is by my side he talks to me and a usual conversation helps me get rid of this emotional state.
Of course, if it’s about hormones you’ll have to see the doctor.

Re: Just sad

you might want to ask your physician for a different contraceptive.
there are many available on the market with different levels of hormones.....perhaps a change there could help you.

Re: Just sad

its possible..one thing I've learned is that just bc its never happened doesnt mean it cant happen...its weird and annoying but not much you can do except manage it.

I used to wonder if Iw as depressed but then I started tracking my moods and I've come to the realization that I get very weepy and extra sensitive before that time of the month.

Re: Just sad

yeah, you're right... it can happen anytime.. its just wierd to me since its the first time...

Re: Just sad

I was taking hormonal meds a few months back and I noticed they cause depression.

Re: Just sad

That's called being a woman.

I am prepared feminazis, do you worst

Re: Just sad

I've done some tracking of my own. However, my mood swings usually come after I've had my period. Is that normal? It doesn't really fall under PMS but I was wondering if anybody else experiences something similar.

Re: Just sad

I guess it was the period :( after that, I've been back to normal

this sucks.. I hope it doesnt happen again
