on my Fido cell phone (Sony Ericsson T610). It said that i am recieving internet settings and that i should press YES to install. This was followed by another message 30 seconds later that asked me to press Yes or No to install. I pressed No.
Anybody else know anything about this? If you recieve such a message I would recommend you press No unless you know what its about.
cheegum i will hurt you so stop messing with me ok. Canadians got nothin on americans. Wait you are not even canadian cause you are a paki. PAINDO EE OYE!
I got a similar message when one of my cousins tried sending me a msg via yahoo messenger. Maybe someone was being cheap and instead of sending a msg through their cell phone decided to use some internet msging svc.
Did you get the phone recently? I remember that when I got the phone (exact same phone as yours, with Fido as well) I got this message when I activated it for the first time. I think its quite safe to press "Yes" as it is setting up the phone with your network.
no i dont think its safe to press "yes" because the same thing happened to my friend abdul cheerag and he pressed yes and got an STD from the phone. unless you are wearing gloves dont press "yes"

someone said it was one of those lil buggers who once accepted will transmit your cell id to someone and then they can start calling using ur number without u knowing.
yeah its a virus… Pakistan maiN kafi log iss virus ki wajah se behosh howe… though they received the SMS on 3310 which dont have any installation opetion…
Cheegum: I usually get these msgs from “+9900000” (I have fido as well) and its usually when someone from msn sends me a msg and its a similar number (code) that I get when someone msgs me from Yahoo. (But from what I recall yahoo is the one that asks to accept or say yes inorder to be able to reply/chat with the person who sent u the msg). In anycase, I have accepted it and replied a lot of times and didnt have any problems. (FYI: do keep in mind though that every msg u recieve like that, fido charges u 5cents and every msg u send is like 15 or 20 cents)
T610 is quite an old phone. it was chic way back at the end of 2003. now it just feels a piece of crap. it sucks really. I dont know why anyone would brag about having one!!
I think the service providers usually send the GPRS settings this way.
Since one hardly need those, and to spare the extra costs that you may get by pressing one button unintentionally (that button will connect you to some website and each minute will cost a lot), it is advisable not to install those.

next time tell your friend to wear a condom; condoms, not gloves, are effective against STDs including AIDS.
