LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) – ABC is looking to spin off its fall reality series “Wife Swap.”
The network has given the go-ahead to pilots for “Husband Swap” and “Boss Swap,” to be produced by the companies behind “Wife Swap.”
In the vein of “Wife Swap,” which features two moms swapping households for 10 days, “Husband Swap” will feature fathers in the same situation, while “Boss Swap” will revolve around executives swapping workplaces.
News on ABC’s “Husband Swap” and “Boss Swap” pilots coincided with Fox’s announcement that it is fast-tracking “Trading Spouses,” a reality series chronicling mothers and fathers as they swap families.
Andrea Wong, ABC executive vp alternative programming, specials and late night, said “Husband Swap” and “Boss Swap” had been in the works for a while and that the order was not related to Fox’s announcement. “Wife Swap” and “Boss Swap” are based on the British series of the same names.
Fox is looking to launch “Trading Spouses” in late summer, before “Wife Swap’s” scheduled premiere September 29.
Fortunately, even the ratings are collapsing for some of these dumb shows. Forgive me, the fans of Amazing Race & Co, but I think after the first season of Survivor, the whole "Reality Show" thingy is a downhill race.
only reality show I watch is amazing race and last comic standing. Both are pure competition without the fake shows out there that shows people pretending to be in love.
