Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Farooq Baig was gunned down by unknown assailants here on Monday.
Sources said that MQM’s organizing commitee member was killed in Landhi area of the metropolis.The sources said that Farooq received multiple bullet injuries. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shahid Hospital for legal formalities where a large number of MQM workers were gathered.
Violence broke out in the various parts of the city, including, Landhi, Kharadar Liaqat Abad, Nazim Abad and Korangi areas of the city.Unknown resorted to aerial firing and set several vehicles on fire.
At least seven vehicles have been torched in the city following the killing of Farooq.
Roads wore deserted look while panic gripped the city following the incident. Fire Brigade officials said that vehicles were ablaze in Korangi Six, Landhi and Liaqaut Abad area.
The sources said that two people also been killed in the city following the incident.

**Altaf condoles over murder of Farooq Baig **
LONDON: Muttaahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain has expressed profound grief and sorrow over murder of Farooq Baig, a member of MQM Organizational Committee.
In a condolence statement, Altaf Hussain said his heart bleeds on continuous killings of MQM leaders, elected representatives, workers and sympathizers.
The MQM leader expressed sympathy and condolence with the family members of the deceased and said that all party workers shared their grief.

This makes it very clear that MQM is not involved in these target killings or any form of violence. MQM has suffered the most. It's amazing how rangers and police are deployed all over the city yet these people can't stop target killings form happening.

We are MQM mafia haters but not Karachi haters. It is extremely sad to see violence erupting in Karachi and innocents being killed by the hands of terrorists. I hope the nazim of Karachi will make sincere efforts to bring peace and stability in Karachi.

But it’s not MQM doing the killings right now. Their people are getting killed. Thousands of rangers are deployed all over the city but killings just keep increasing. But what can you expect from these Army guys when they were in bed with Osama for over 10 years.
Karachi doesn’t have a Nazim, that post was abolish by PPP after Mustafa Kamal’s tenure ended in early 2010. It has now been replaced by an Administrator post, current administrator is Lala Fazal ur Rehman of PPP. He’s known for getting drunk on duty.

I did not say MQM did it. I said who ever did it. Anyway your claim of army killing in Karachi is pathetically wrong. Army is not responsible for the karachi killings. And yes, I know the about the current administrator. All I am saying is that it is now his job to bring peace in Karachi.

When will MQM realize this that it is no body else but their partner in Sindh and Isb who are killing them left right and center, if MQM respond in typical style then it can be labeled as terrorist outfit and if not then they are going to be killed by Jiyalas of PPP...
This is what going on, PPP have nothing to loose from Karachi, all they need is some votes here and there, the living standards and development in Larkana, Sukkar and other PPP strongholds tell us alot about how much they are interested in the welfare of it on voter, let alone about the city where they don't have any significant representation....

Never said army is killing people in Karachi lol. But for sure I know they are doing little to nothing when it comes to bringing peace in Karachi.
