Hi everyone. I’ve just got back from Pakistan and luckily found Nilofer Shahid to design and create all my wedding outits and my familys outfits too as i want them to all complement each other. I was blown away by her work, the detail that goes into her pieces is amazing. I am Turkish and getting married to a Pakistani guy, so as i’m not Pakistani myself i was really trying to find someone who could make outfits that weren’t overly traditional, and after seeing alot of designers, Meeras was the best. All of my fiances outfits i’ve ordered are from Amir Adnan.
Has anyone used these designers? If you have PLEASE tell me about them and show pictures! I would love to see and hear other peoples experiences! I’m praying that when everything is delivered in January it’s everything i hoped for! xx

There's a post further down which I think contain's Nilofer's latest collection. Did you happen to pick anything along those designs?? I'm also a fan of her work, but never visisted her in person. I just wanted to ask you a couple of things:
1) What were her prices like for bridal wear??
2) Is she easy to speak to??

Well, we got there on Eid, and everything was closed for 3 days, even though we had appointments with designers booked in those days. We had a friend in Pakistan book all our appointments, but when we got there noone was answering our calls! We got a call the day after our appointment was meant to be with Meeras, from them, and they apologised for the late response and asked if we could go in then. We got there and afew minutes after arriving Nilofer walked in. She is an extremely classy woman, and has a real eye for fashion. She didn't have to come in to help us, i mean she was leaving for Paris 2 days later, she could have left it down to her assistant Sara, who by the way, was amazing too. But she made the effort to come in. She took in my own wants from a dress and added her own touches. Shes very open to ideas and wonderfully down to earth.
Unlike Hassan Shehryar, who is too arrogant to show up for appointments, leaves everything down to his gaggle of female assistants who sit around and gossip together all day. They also aren't willing to hear your own ideas for a dress, he wants to give you what HE has designed, never mind what you want!
Her pricing is quite expensive, she like the 'Dior of Pakistan'. My wedding outfit was about £2000, then I ordered quite afew general outfits for other wedings and things, which ranged between £500 and £800. My Mehndi outfit was £500. But my family and i ordered about 20 outfits between us so we managed to get the price down a little. I must say though, i saw an outfit which i loved for £6000! But the detail was exquisite, and honestly worth every penny! I couldn't justify paying 6 grand for an outfit tho, so i didn't order it, lol. Maybe next time!
Oh yea, and i did order one of the out fits in the pictures for my registry, the one with all the girls in, the pink, 5th from the left! But mine i ordered in off-white instead. xx

I wish I had the oppurtunity to see your wedding outfit...does it have alot of kaam on it??? Also, what colour(s) did you choose???
I'm actually trying to figure out what I could get for £2000 for one of her creations....is any of the work on your wedding dress similar to the pictures posted in the other Meeras post??
I'm also now very curious to know what the £6000 outfit would have looked like...it must have been gorgeous.

my cousin bought his Sherwani from Amir Adnan and it was well nice, it was black sherwani and red n gold kam on it, evreyone just loved it

My dress is like a lengha style, the top is tight fitting completely covered with embroidery and stones, the skirt has parts which are very heavily embroidered. My engagement dress top was kind of the same, except its obviously going to be a different colour, and it is much more heavily embroidered. My engagement outfit that i’ve attached pictures of was from London, i don’t know if anyone knows Sequinze in Southall.
My wedding outift is a graduation from the top, fuscia, down to dark red, down to dark purple. It looks amazing! Can’t wait to get it, i’ll of course pose for some pictures and put them on here when they arrive!

very nice like your taste!! i loved nilofer shahid's collection on the couture show and have emailed them but no replies--i have registered so many times to get to their cataloque on meeras.biz but no reply and it doesn't work...

thats the thing i dont like bout pakistani designers..as soon as they get a bit famous they start floating in the air..their prices, their attitudE! ugghh
