I’ve been really looking in to skincare and came across Caroline Hiron’s blog (she’s a skincare guru), and I have to say that I absolutely love her already, lols.
A lot of what she says makes sense and the products that she uses seem amazing too. There are sooo many other youtubers/bloggers who follow her advice/products and they all have great things to say about her. She featured on Pixiwoo’s Body Talk channel
I’m hearing great things about this ‘Hydraluron’ that she raves about and a acidic/exfoliating toner called p50 which i cant wait to try.
Have any of you heard of Caroline Hirons or/and followed her recommendations? Have you used Hydraluron or the P50 toner?
I haven’t used it get because I’m quite happy with GLA cleansers and Retin-A but if I did but it, I’d buy it from Bravura. Their ingredients are simple and their HA is not animal derived. Hyaluronic Acid Serum 50ml - Treatment
Oh thank you soooooo much for this recommendation, ur amaaaaazing :)
Ive been reading up reviews about it, and it seems as though a lot of those who use it, have used it in place of the hydraluron :)
Apparantly its normally retailed at around £50 approx, so its nearly half the price at the mo so I think I will invest just because its quite reasonable in comparison to the Hydraluron from Boots. Aaannnd its all NATURAL ingredients which is even more amazing as i'll be able to use it during my pregnancy :)
Thank u again stoppit :)
Ps. Can you please give details of the gla cleansers and retin-a products that you are currently using, as in brand names, where u get them from etc.
Also could u pleeeeease tell me your current skincare routine please? Are you still using the rosehip oil etc?
Yes, I still use rosehip oil and witch hazel daily as described in earlier threads. I don’t expect that I would stop using them. I’m not in the habit of trying new things for the sake of it and if I find something that works well, I stick with it.
I like to use a cleanser in the shower in the morning. I currently use a cleanser from Bravura which contains 10% glycolic acid but they have discontinued it. I need to replace it soon and they recommended this one to me as being the most similar: Rejuvenating Cleansing Milk 100ml - Problem/Acne - Cleanse
I use Witch Hazel and Rosehip Oil to prep my skin before moisturising. I use an Olay Regenerist moisturiser because it’s light and non-greasy. I don’t think it really matters what you use, as long as it works for your skin.
At night, I take my eyemakeup off with Bioderma and Castor Oil. I love Castor Oil it really does very easily remove every last bit of my mascara and liner and saves me having to use a ton of Bioderma. It’s also supposed to be good for your eyelashes. The night before I wash my hair I massage Castor Oil mixed with Coconut Oil (in very small amounts) into my scalp. It’s been amazing for dry scalp skin and hair fall. Because it’s directly massaged onto my skin and because Castor Oil is not greasy when properly massaged into the skin, I don’t need to shampoo more than usual. Also at night when I remember, I apply Castor Oil to my feet… just one drop at a time, it completely absorbs and your skin shouldn’t be greasy when done. A couple of days of this and you will have super soft feet
I’m not too bothered about how I take my face makeup off, I usually just use an Olay cloth that you run under water.
Last winter, I started using 0.025% Retin-A at night, following a particular routine. There are threads on Retin-A explaining more about it. It is a prescription only medication, prescribed for acne but it improves skin condition and wrinkles. I’ve written a post about my Retin-A routine which you can search for. I just started applying it again a few weeks back.
Ah thanks for getting back to me about your skincare routine :) Its good to know what your doing as you seem really clued up about skincare, so thank you for sharing.
I love how your routine is quite simple and doesnt involve loads of products :)
LOVE the tip about putting castor oil on your feet. I'm deffo going to give that a go as I too have dry heels at the mo, and moisturising them only provides a temporary solution, so will deffo be trying this tip :)
Thanks soooo much stoppit :) Im sure there are sooo many who have benefitted from your rosehip oil tip :)
