Just curious

Can you have sex while pregnant. If yes can you carry on throughout the pregnancy or is there a cut off point after which you cant? (Islamically speaking)

No, I’m not pregnant. I’d love to be though.

Re: Just curious

So doesnt any one know then?

Re: Just curious

its safe to make love all through your pregnancy. The docs will tell you too, near your due date, that making love can help start up the labor process - ejaculate softens the cervix and sex helps you contract. As far as what Islaam dictates, I'm not entirely sure. I only know from my reading that the partners should be "Islaamically clean" so I assume that if there's no leaking amniotic fluid etc then there should be no problem. Sorry to be so graphic, this is probably why no responses lol! Just relax and enjoy (as much as you can when you're feeling like Babu the whale!)

Re: Just curious

Islamically you can have sex through pregnancy. I haven't been told otherwise. In terms of health, sex during pregnancy is fine too unless your doctor tells you not to.

Re: Just curious

islamically, yes, you can. heard it from islamic people.

that making love can help start up the labor process - ejaculate softens the cervix and sex helps you contract.

interesting, well, ive heard not the sexual act itself but just the sexual "feelings" make a normal menstruation cycle less painful. wonder if it is due to the same theory.

Re: Just curious

from cousins i heard that one should abstain from this act.... and that only the 6th month is safe.....

Re: Just curious

i think i read somewhere after the 7th month you should stop..?

Re: Just curious

Healthwise, no, you can have sex right up to birth, but what mama says is true it can cause contractions, so if you have problems to begin with, may be a good idea to abstain whenever your doctor says to. But like she said about feeling like Babu, lol, that'll kill it a bit too.

Islamically, I have no idea.

Re: Just curious

Like Minah said, its safe to have sex till the end unless doctors say otherwise.
Minah, I wonder whether I, being a male, would have been appreciated if I had been as graphic as you are in replying to this question?

Re: Just curious

If I was graphic in a thread about testosterone and prostates, lecture me, but you're the one in a female thread :) you tell me

Zalim - avert your eyes lest you be shocked... wouldn't want to offend a nosey brother :p

TNWB - it isn't the feelings, it is the endorphins and the uterine contractions after sex that help during PMS and mestruation.

Re: Just curious

^ GS is not a segregated place where females can say this and that in their threads where men can not! :smack:

Re: Just curious

May I point it out that its not recommended to have sex during menstruation!

Re: Just curious

oh but… you know, ahem… i mean I didnt mean after sex

i meant just “the feelings”

Re: Just curious

Zalim, you may :) you have my permission

TNWB - I know what you meant, I was just explaining the reasoning and what helps, btw - it's not just sex, more precisely it's after cough orgasm cough

Re: Just curious

ohhhh… coughcoughcough

i seeee… hmm… cough

AHEM… okay

Zalim - You misunderstood, let me say it bluntly then. You are in a thread about childbirth and sex being discussed among married women. If it offends you, don't read. Jumping in and saying we should limit what we say because you may read is silly or rude, depending on how serious we take it. Wives discuss this issue because it comes up in a marriage and single women can use it later.

Consider this the kitchen, you know what to do if it's too warm for you.

Re: Just curious

Thanks. I stand educated.

Re: Just curious

i think Islamically it is after around 8 months that a pregnant woman should not procreate. And like others said, doctor wise, until the day of your delivery, be as ahem...active as you can be.

Re: Just curious

Khumar, lol, your answer had me rolling

If you're already pregnant, how is it procreating?

LOL - don't answer, I know you were being tactful :)

Re: Just curious

^ Yeah that's what i was wondering... ur already procreating so to speak so.... :-|
