I know the Cricket World Cup fever has gripped all guppies… but did anyone notice the humbling of the mighty yesterday? I am referring to the Friendly International Soccer match played yesterday in which Australia beat England 3-1 in England!
Even though it was a friendly match, it ranks as one of the greatest upsets of all time. Having lost to the Ausies at Cricket recently in the Ashes tour, then losing to the Aussies again in the Davis Cup, English Sport was looking to the national soccer team to finally get some revenge … ha ha ha… dream on!
At this rate England is going to struggle to qualify for the Euro 2004 Championships… after all they will have to beat Turkey (Semi-finalists at last years World Cup) both home & away… a tall order based on last nights performance.
