I have also heard that 'Khans can only marry Khans'. Also the Shia Sunni thing. Moreover, you have Arabs that would look at Pakistani guy/girl in a very inferior way. These are traditions and myths that are taken to the extreme. If you look in a different way, I think Syeds along with others are just trying to carry their name. If it leads to prejudice, that is judging a person by their looks or first name, then it is wrong. In the end, we are all Muslims and should judge a person by their character and not by their looks or name.

Just wanted to say that we, the subcontinent Muslims have made an issue out of nothing, imported Hindu customs into Islam.
