Re: Junoon to Perform @ Pak Day LA 2005

It’s been a week, sometimes we get so caught up in our lives, job requirements and ongoing work projects or personal involvement we forget to stop and take a moment to appreciate our friends. Those who are there when you need them share the good times with us, especially when you need them, so that’s make true “A friend in need is a friend indeed” that’s what experienced evening of Aug 6th.

A friend whom I met over internet a year earlier, I was really delighted to meet him last Saturday. A person who is there when you really need a push, who will boost your motivation, to make it happened.

Who pay great respect, a fast learner and ever ready to take challenges, and the person is “5abi”,

5abi, I really appreciate your help and hard work, both you and @LA were just awesome, you guys did great on cameras, though I was not expecting much, but after seeing the video footage, all thumbs up! Well-done guys. Especially you 5abi, your hand control coverage proved to better then image stabilization feature.

Straight hours without break and such dedicated involvement on job, I really appreciate! Thank you so much! I know I could be too demanding often, and if I was please accept my apology and thanks for understanding.

Working as volunteer is not easy, the long hours working culture we have in this country unfortunately limits and bound once participation, so I can understand your goodwill gesture.

Though I am pretty busy with work, but I do whenever I have the time to do so. I think doing volunteer work is a great and gratifying thing to do for such events. One should volunteer out of the goodness of their heart. People have to contribute to their communities, societies and country in some fashion, and Payday in of the example.

Thanks to all the Volunteers, Organizer, nefy and Huma too. I know and understand it was hard, but you guys finally made it.

And now for you Spock, your personal anticipation and involvement is understandable, but I would have really admired your request. I don’t mind at all if a small note or acknowledgement is sent prior to such actions. I would have never refused or said no! But there are some unique formalities which should not be ignored. Otherwise it portrays once poor communications skills.

Personals interest should carry, but one should not get personal, the whole idea is to make our people, artist, actors and players, best in world and among neighboring countries, that why our motive should be the same to support them, just need to get a wider angle look, with more positive approach where rules should be respected instead of enforcing personal comments.

14th Aug, or any PakDay celebration, for me is another Eid Day, where we all Pakistanis unite, for our beloved country. It’s either, Junoon, Abrar, Ali, or else, whole idea is to sketch the right picture of their performance and enlighten their work. It’s not easy but do try.

Salman and Ali highly admired the shots during the show and specially requested for their and crowd images to be posted at their website. So if you guys have a gallery or however you want to do it, I will just forward the shots, you guys take care from there.

Rest for all friend here in GS due to high dense medium Images around 3-4mb, 99KB restriction in images and 500KB in gallery won’t make this year happen, a lot ample time needed for downsizing of images. Will wait until the admin are done with all updates.

Meantime images from this year PakdayLA could be viewed at www.pakdayla.com or www.safla.net, pakmusic, or www.ykkb.pakstop.com. Will soon be up on MTV Desi and couple Pakistani News sites.

Once again thank you 5abi and @LA for all your help, Show was covered in Showbiz India Ch 18, played and confirmed, MTV India and ARY One news and major Newspaper in Pakistan and LA,California, ther are more to come I will let you know the details.

Regards,

YKKB.

Re: Junoon to Perform @ Pak Day LA 2005

I really had loads of fun at this festival. It was a unique experience to capture the concert and event on camera and I learned first-hand a great deal about photgraphy from YKKB.

Unforunately, it didnt turn out to be as big as we had thought. There were some issues that annoyed people including the $5 entry fee and lack of popular food vendors from around LA. There was negative article published in News Asia (a local paper here) which I thought totally portrayed a dim picture of this event. It hardly mentioned how entertaining this event was and what was the purpose behind it! Pakistan Link on the other hand had a balance of praise and criticism.

Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience to be part of it and enjoy the music and company of fellow Pakistanis at the same time.

I want to thank SAFLA (South Asian Festival of Los Angeles) for organizing this excellent mela/festival 2nd time in a row. Keep up the good work of bringing Pakistani community in LA together and providing great entertainment and highlighting Pakistan and her culture in US. Dont listen to any negative articles and comments in local newspapers. They fail to understand how much effort you guys had put into this event. Thanks also to all the volunteers and staff that made this possible. Keep up the good work and make it even bigger next year. You have our support!

I also want to thank one of the nicest persons I had the pleasure of meeting, YKKB, for his tireless and selfless work and his devotion to Pakistan and events that portray Pakistan in a positive manner. And capturing these events on camera. He does it all FREE of charge and has never sold his pictures to anyone. Ive never seen anyone more dedicated to the cause of promoting and capturing these events than him. He gets requests from local and Pakistani newspapers, ARY/GEO/Direct TV/PTV etc for his images. Anyone can purchase these high-end cameras and start clicking but to take the kinda shots YKKB does is an art form.

A total of 588 pictures were released (he had taken more, but some were not worthy of release to the masses). That has got to be the biggest coverage for any event that I have seen in my lifetime.

YKKB, sirji, you were demanding and there is no need to appologize. I learned a great deal. Im excited that the video came out more than ordinary. Cant wait to lay my hands on it  And it wasnt hard work, like I told you it was all about whatever little one could do for this event and I did my part, however, little it may be.

YKKB, yaar we can leave the Junoon Management to manage themselves. We already told Ali and Salman about Pakmusic/Pakstop gallery and now even the PakDayLA.com is linking to Pakstop gallery and Salman even asked Irfan about you, remember  You can send the pictures (w/o the watermarks) directly to Salman. Im sure HE will appreciate it.

Re: Junoon to Perform @ Pak Day LA 2005

I am sure they are dying to see the 900 pictures :hehe:

Also, the 50,000 crowd expected (as foretold/predicted by the organizer) was a huge exaggeration
